Roughly, what's the weight difference between the Corsa and stock exhaust system?

I weighed all 3 systems I've used. The official weight thread incorrectly lists Corsas as 2 lbs lighter than stock. In fact, the system is 6 lbs heavier than stock. Weights per muffler.

Stock: 25.9 lb
Stock with 3" Muffler Mod: 27.3 lb
Corsa: 29.1 lb

Ha, he would have raced me for sure. He positioned his car a few times for a run, but there was never any room, and I don't like slowly down on the interstate during broad daylight and slowly down cars behind me. Would have train lengthened him....not even close He's a good buddy of mine, older gent, lots of smack talk but without ego, he knows who he can beat and who he can't.

Here's a couple short clips from the red C7Z's PDR.

Traction control on. Kept the tires spinning through second just to give the C7Z something to listen to.

The 1/2 mile videos sound amazing and I'm blown away by the computer upgrade and the improvement that made towards the drivability of the combination. It just keeps getting better. The Mamo clutch upgrade will be the cherry on top man....your biggest regret will be not having installed it sooner!!

Catch up soon!

I'm glad you liked the videos. I'm still in love with every aspect of this build. The torque, the sounds, the reliability. It's been amazing.

Thanks for reminding me about the clutch upgrade. I'm moving in about six weeks then starting college. I might have to wait. My Monster is still performing mint. I'm sure it will be love at first sight when I drive a car with an RPS.

A lower cost change I'll be making is with the catback. I'll be selling my Corsas and installing some of my 3" mufflers. Factory tips. People who see my car in person call it "a sleeper", ha, which I think is funny given it's an all-mighty C6Z! So I'll try to keep it stock appearing where possible.

The Corsas just drone and drone from 65 to 80 mph. Another C6Z owner with a 454 reported the same thing, tons of drone with his Corsas; my theory is that the bump in engine displacement messed up the acoustics of the Corsa design, as stock cube LS7 owners report zero or almost zero drone regardless of cam. Live and learn. I'll put a M2W switch on it for torque down low....and to please the cars and coffee crowds with the Hot For Teacher soundtrack

Stock cube LS7 owner here with headers and no cats - drone to high hell from 64-77mph on the dot. Not sure it's the cubic inches that matters here, some people have said bigger cams are what cause it - not sure if I'm buying into that theory either.

You may not recall, but we spoke via Facebook at length about this issue Josh. Went to a ZR1 system and haven't looked back. Same high pitched tone as the Corsa without the drone.

After researching the wiring diagrams between 2006 and 2010 EBCMs we discovered that the 2010 has a separate control module that processes inputs for steering angle while the 2006 EBCM processes these inputs. Based on the added complexity in the conversion I decided it was a bit too ambitious for my purposes and I returned the ZR1 hubs and axles. I will most likely turn those funds around and invest them in an RPM TR6060 with Z06 1-4, ZR1 5-6.

I'm planning on removing my Corsas soon and installing a set of my 3" modified stock mufflers. I'll list the Corsas for sale in the classifieds soon.

I have a 17k mile TR6060 at RPM right now being torn down. Had a 2nd gear grind issue that they are addressing. I was planning on putting stock parts in it and listing it for sale, but if you'd rather use it as a core to build your own TR6060, now would be a good time for both of us.

Right now I'm interested in a "new" TR6060 from RPM, I was told it is built using only new parts. The price isn't too bad considering all that goes into them.

Just FYI, I dyno'd with flapper open versus closed (dynamic) and the car picked up 50whp on the low-end with the flapper open. Having it closed loses tq instead of gaining it. This is a 620whp LS7.

No FYI needed. I have pulled the fuse on my 3" Mufflers on several trips to the dyno and watched the torque curve jump 50 points down low. This figure would be even higher if tested on my 454.

I did get better highway fuel economy with the flaps open versus closed freeway cruising in the 1500 to 1800 RPM range. Now pulling out from a dead stop is a different story. I think it is easier to stall with the flaps opened.

That is very interesting about stalling and baffle position. Fuel economy makes sense too. I enjoy that kind of testing.

Oil change question:
So I changed my oil at 100 miles, cut the filter, typical looking gray oil from a fresh engine build. I put in Amsoil 5w-30 Signature series and now there's 1200 miles on that oil. Is it time for an oil change?

I think the answer is yes, but I don't want to throw out $90 of oil/filter if I'm being too cautious.

If that nice ride of yours was mine I'd change it now and then every 3K on a regular service interval after that.

I would change it for sure. I'm extremely oil change happy after a rebuild. I will say I used mineral based oil for the first two to ease the pain on the wallet though. Probably changed it 4 times within 1500 miles. Couple track days account for the very short intervals.

Man that thing just hates tires
How's the clutch doing? You went with the LT1-SC correct? How do you like it?
