Default Shifting question

I have a 2011 Z06 Carbon Edition and it just started to "grind" a little bit when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. All other shifts are fine. Any suggestions as where to start looking for the problem?

If you aren't able to do the work yourself, start looking for a shop. Sounds like it's time to start getting some trans work lined up.

How many miles are on it?

I assume your in service date has passed and the 5 year 100k factory power train warranty is expired? If not, then a trip to a reputable Chevy dealer in your area would be my next step.

Sounds like a synchro...but check your clutch fluid first. Is the reservoir full? Secondly, is it full of clean fluid? If it's black, flush the fluid using the "ranger method" which you can search on here for the procedure. It'll take a few times, but the fluid will come clean. Test drive and see if there's an improvement. Whether or not this is the cure for your issue, this process should become part of your routine maintenance to keep the clutch hydraulics in good working order. I use Castrol LMA synthetic for my brake and clutch fluids.

I have raced a ST2 Corvette in NASA for several years before retiring so the fluids was the first things I checked. All fluids were in good shape, most likely the stock transmission just did not like the extra 200 hp I was running through it. Heading to RPM transmission tomorrow for a Stage VI replacement transmission

Ahh...good bit of information left out. Excellent choice on RPM!
