Default ***New PB N/A Stock internal LS7 M6 ***

Hi all, I would like to share with you some information about my drag racing week end. Some peoples will beleive it, and some will not. It's everyone choice, and I don't want to start BS threads. I repeat, this threads are for information only to be as much transparent as possible about the setup and the day. Plenty of people have seen me and the car all the week end. I'm not using any type of power adders, and the short block is completly stock assembled at wixom center back in 2008 by Kerry Rasmussen.

Ok back to last year after my 9.530 run. I'm interested to dig a bit on the setup over the winter. After data analysis, I picked the choice to swap the 4.10 to a 3.91 to lower my rpm on the big end. And then, redisigned a new hydraulic roller custom cam better suited for the freshly CNC and milled heads by Livernois motorsport. I have also pulled the trigger on the MSD intake and new injectors. I have done some weight reduction here and there from 2910 dry to 2835 dry.

The car have dynoed 665 rwhp corrected with the 3.91 on my Dynocom dyno with VP 100 fuel, so probably a little higher on the 3.42.
First time out this year 4 september 2016, I have done 15' on the 1/4 mile. I exploded the rear end on the first run. The gear destroyed first and then case explode. C6 case are BO from GM since then ...

So , I took the decision to put back my C6Z06 3.42 rear end, and I have no great expection to perform as well as with my 3.91. Anyway, I got the opportunity to go at the track the last week end with family and friends, so this is a go !

Saturday i have done a total of 6 run from 11 am to about 7h45 pm. Alot of car and the track not so good for low profile drag radial.

Best 60' was 1.39. But I was really surprised of the big end mp/h. I questionned myself and the timing equipment. But in the end, this is an NHRA track as per what I know, and every racer that day run the mp/h they run normally at Napierville and at other track. I cross the line at 6850 RPM or so as per my eyes, and my data log.

The DA was slighty positive all the week end, around 0 to 300' and a 6 mp/h tail wind.

The car is very well dialed in to extract every bit of power and use it to the ground. This is a night and day vs a car with a dragpack, engine built by someone, tuned by an another, and so on. Care to details made a big difference.

3-4 shift point happen at or about 50-75' before the 1/8 trap speed.

I would like to thanks, Gary and Rob for the support the advice and the help provided over years. Also my friends James to push me out of my comfort zone and the help provided at the track.

Frans, I know a well dialed bolt-on car with a completly stock LS7 engine, car weight probably well more than mine with driver, doing regulary 30-31 mp/h backhalf.

It's you're choice, no one hold you there ...

Plenty of people have seen my car all the week end in the pit lane, hood, door, trunk open. Everybody can tell it to you, there is no bottle or power adders in my car.

If you are so expert ... You have to calculate the delta E.T. They are about the same as my 9.53. If a power adders was used anywhere in the run, it's easy to found it. and the delta ET would be way off.

I can believe the ET, but I just can't get around to believing the trap speed and back half mph. 40 mph back half is more than 99% of the top cars on the FI list. Heck even comparing it to your previous best you picked up almost 8 mph in the back half. Something had to be off with the equipment.

Regardless, awesome passes and awesome driving!

Does N/A stand for nitrous armed? Gale forced tail winds? Are you running a Nitrous Outlet or Induction Solutions kit? It's amazing how well a good progressive controller will allow you to spray out of the hole and slam it at the 30' mark.

It was good to hear that RPM made the trip - heard him at the end of the video.

Post a log.

Thank you sir, the best I can says, is that everybody I talk this day run the same mp/h as usual.

I have asked to Mr. Brunet owner of the track, and he confirm me that all is normal. I cannot explain more .

Also makes a huge difference as Seb has stated before that he get's into 4th before the 8th and gets it up to 6850 or so. Everyone knows 4th with make some MPH when you reach the powerband.

My 8th to 1/4 splits were about 30-31mph like usual and my times were in check, same track, same day so I know the equipment is good.

Seb gained 0.18 in regards to last year. For what his done it's not out of this world. Many guys claiming 3-4mph for a MSD intake over fast, and the Livernois head program worth a few over stock, a better cam to take advantage of those, and some shedded weight. If that doesn't make sense to anyone, then i'm not sure what will. (not talking directly to anyone)

I'm impressed how you lost the gearing advantage of 4.10s and picked up from the 60' to the 1320' with the same power.

Seb, can you tell me what the LSA is on your cam and what are some of the things you did to get bigger weight reduction - the 3 biggest weight reduction items.

thanks and great passes,
SC

Holy cow Sebast that is AMAZING driving! You are shifting faster than an automatic.

I will I'll call BS on your bionic arm! You must list this $6 million dollar device on your mod list!!!

just kidding of course, you have truly dialed your car in perfectly and honed your driving skills to a razor edge. Congrats are in order and well deserved.

A couple of questions if I can, what clutch do you use and what shift points? I am sure my clutch would not disengage at the rpms I think I hear. Also did you faceplate the transmission to allow such fast shifts? I broke two trying to shift nowhere near as fast you can.

I am am amazed that the 3.42 gears made you quicker too. That is not what I would have expected but experience and facts beats guesses any day. Thanks for sharing all these details with us and congrats again!

I cannot say more Frans, rpm show 6850 in the traps speed, I shift the 4th before the 660'' , I have a 2835 pounds car, 665 rwhp, 6 mp/h tail wind, DA give me +4.5% of power over the corrected dyno results... 1/8 mp/h vary from 111 to 115+ and from 147 to 153. This is not always 40 mph, 3-4 shiftpoint seem to have alot of effect in my case

So by math, the 2835 pounds car have roughly 785 flywheel Hp. That give me a 3.6 power to weight ratio.

I cannot control the timing equipment. But again, James run before and after my sunday run in the same lane. There is No timing error.

Seb

I use the same RPS BC2 clutch with steel flywheel. I shift to 7300 - 7400 RPM. The T-56 transmission are not faceplated.

As for comparaison:

Last year setup:
4.10 gear set, 2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1:1 25.68'' tires

This year setup:

3.42 gear set, 3.01, 2.07, 1.43 1:1 25.68'' tires

I don't know him personally and I also don't think Corvettes belong on a drag race track, BUT I've followed his posts before, he seems like a no-nonsense, honest fellow, he went through great lengths to document these runs.

Anyone calling "BS" on these runs might be better served to spend less time at their keyboards knocking other people's accomplishments, more time putting the effort into their cars AND their driving, as he has obviously done.

CONGRATS and thank you for doing your part to keep the mystic of the C6 Z alive!
