It does beg the question, why drive 10 hours beyond your local track ?

Guys this gentleman is seriously dialed in. He is exactly right... there is a LOT to be gained by paying attention to the many many little details of the car and driver. yes the question of the speed gained does make you have to think harder---but impossible---I would say no. Been fooled too many times.
Hey but it is just like the government catching an alien----every one wants an autopsy---but to me ---raising the bar like this --shows it is possible---no?
You go dude!

I don't have a local track , its as simple as that. The closest one are at 6 hours away from my home. Here at Baie-Comeau, its not like you in united states with a track every 50 miles.

The funny thing is that there's more left in it especially in the 60'. The car bogged to a 1.35, nice.
Everyone's entitled to his/her opinion which is what makes this a quality forum as long as the personal insults are omitted.
Here's my opinion and why.
I believe Seb for so many reasons.
1) He's always been a standup guy and I can tell by his entire attitude that it's not in his nature to cheat.
2)Look at his history. He's spent years learning his car and incrementally worked his way lower and lower with knowledge he gained from each previous outing. That's a true student of the game.
3) He does a lot of the little things I find necessary to distance himself from other run of the mill setups. It all adds up.
4) People underestimate weight, acceleration of the motor, and the potential of the ls7. You can hear how quickly the car accelerates in the video and there's no sign of any power adder based on the video.
5) He's been doing it for years and has already run 9.53 cam-only. Don't judge him by your own average times and knowledge. Assume there's a lot you don't know and are leaving on the table.
6) Who cares about mph? The et makes sense based on his skill, unique setup, previous times and overall track knowledge. Bad half mph means d@ck in a 6-speed car. There's no formula to calculate, averages are used, and every track is different. So maybe he traps 148 @ anther track and still runs 9.2. That can happen. And so many things contribute to big mph including clutch, weight, driver, air, and some others.
7) I've seen 142ish mph in a cam only 346 c5 short shifting and not fully tuned with a heavy clutch. And similar times and mph with a 388 ls7. The parts to the puzzle are all there. Don't hate because he's one of the few to put it together. If your gonna call him names, call him smart.
The car looks great, he's put in the time, and deserves the props.
Plus he's gonna go faster. If you can get a small diameter, narrow, stiff drag radial with not much sidewall to hook it's gonna run faster every time!
-As for the plastic manifolds, I think they are underrated. With the right setup the can be more than adequate and make power reasonably high in the rpm band. My cam only ls6 with an fast 102 didn't peak @ 7300 yet so most h/c cars are not limited by the manifold as much as by the stock bottom end, springs, and other stock components.
Nice job Seb. Try to block out the haters and get that 9.25. Good stuff.

could it be you guys are comparing a guy with awesome driving skills and awesome power combo to someone with a boosted car that may not be too good of a setup and a cruddy driver?
You could give me a 900hp boosted car and I probably couldn't run a 9.3 with it haha

I did not really get a chance to congradulate Seb here on his post. Seb and I have become very close friends over the last 2 years and although we live about 10hrs apart, we manage to link up pretty often both on the track and off. Having him help me out with my own build has helped me out in ways most can only hope. Started with running 11.77 to having a 10.14 and creeping my way into the Top10 on the fast list. I am more than confident that with his help and coaching I will have that 9.9x timeslip very soon.
I thought that I was passionante about drag racing until I met Seb for the first time. I haven`t been around a track all my life or anything but you can clearly see that there is something that sets him apart from ordinary guys like myslef. He put so much thought into ever decision, calculates EVERYTHING, and what makes me freak out the most is that he calls his shots like a pool shark. He will say something like, i tweaked this and changed that and i should run a 9.48 for example.....then in 2 passes or so, cashes in what he said he would. When we were in the staging lanes he came to me and said, hey...if I pin 1.35 60ft watch for 9.35-9.36. moments later, watching from my driver seat, he leaves the line and i see 1.35 up on the board......then pow 9.35 just like that. You really need to see a guy like that in the zone to truly even come close to understanding and appriciate just how ahead he really is. I imagine guys like Gary, Robz, and Ranger all the same cloth so to speak.
Seb, it has been a great expeirience for me to be up close in person, and watch a guy who puts more effort than anyone, achieve amazing feats that only a guy like you can. raising the bar even higher every time out there. No one deserves this more thn you. Congrats and enjoy your accomplishments my friend.

Gotta walk before you can run I suppose.
On a side note, I don't doubt Seb's numbers...always seemed like a very honest straight shooter to me. I have no reason to question his integrity. It's unfortunate he's Canadian, but that's not his fault. Congrats again on raising the bar Seb!!

Not sure why it's unfortunate to be Canadian though. Hopefully you mean just cause he's far.... As I'm Canadian as well :P
