Default 2006 Z06 price check??

Looking at closing a deal on a 2006 Z06 with about 50k miles on Monday. PRC heads, Katech Torquer 110 cam, Halltech MF103 intake, stock exhaust with cutouts, MGW shifter, tires are poor. Pfadt coilovers. Dewitts radiator. Lingenfelter oil tank. Dyno tuned with sheet and video showing 520 whp on a DynoJet. Original clutch. Previous owner had it from 18k miles. I was able to speak to him and I think I have a good understanding of the good and bad of the car. 2lz car. Interior is very clean. Front end and windshield show some chips but not terrible. Good service and maintenance history. The engine work has about 9,000 miles on it. Having that done is a huge plus to me as I would want to do it but wouldn't want to pay new price for it. Car was street driven but also tracked some. $32,500. What do we think of that?

If it drives tight its a solid deal. 30k car without mods, and he has 7-8 added.

I was thinking 33 ish with new tires so your right there.

Value will be in whats needed to have a tight car. Only a drive and inspection will tell that.

That's about what I thought. Some subscribe to the idea that the modifications are worth $0. I figure if you can get them at half or a third of new and they're what you want, that would be a great value. I'd still take any opinions on this particular price. Maybe there is a better value out there going in to winter?

Good luck with that.

Just finished my build, and I would not buy used valve train parts of which most were more then half off to gamble on.

Maybe if you shopped for a year before deciding to build.

Me I like brand new parts with a full life cycle so I don't have to go in again.

I did save about 10% on a msd intake, and 30% on a K&N cai

I guess I was referring to the value of the work/mods already completed on a car rather than buying used parts to install.

If car is in good shape, $31-33k is a decent deal. Local guy picked up a silver 06 with similar mods for $30k but had 60k miles.

Since the car has been tracked, the brakes are a question. A fast car like that wears brakes quickly. How much pad life is left? I don't know how much you would need to pay for new brakes, but I'm guessing if you farm it out that would cost near $1k (but don't quote me on the price, I did my own work). If it needs brakes and tires, you looking at a spending couple grand minimum to get the maintenance on par with where it should be. One rear tire is about $500. I'd offer $30,500 if it needs brakes too.

It sounds like a well cared for car with proper mods. If you feel the guy is telling you the truth about his car. Buy it.

Any car that age probably needs tires, and brakes are CHEAP if you do labor yourself.

Exactly

new rotors 300, and pads I did for 100, and its easy as pie.

Tires I did for 1g installed since its a daily driver. For a stock motor it was fine. For a modded motor I think better tires are in order.
