Default Wrap or coat exhust??

Well hello to all, i am wondering if i should attack my headers and mid pipe with a wrap or a heat coat... I have LG super pro long tubes with an x pipe with a borl atak exhaust. I LIKE to have the engine bay heat reduced since these headers love making lots of heat now.. advise? Direction? On what should i do

I had mine done, coated, when I bought them new, LG Super Pro's like yours, for the same reasons you suggest. They look like new several years later.

Coated! Wrapping will cause the metal to fatigue. I personally like the wrapped look better but do not want to be dealing with cracks later on down the road.

And most header manufacturers will void your warranty if you wrapped them and a failure occurs.

Both?

Coating has other downsides too, especially in the engine bay. Seen more than one car burn to ground because of wrapping headers. A slighy leak in a valve cover dumping oil onto the wrap, and you have a nasty engine fire.

I do have areas wrapped because of specific things.

I used Jethot. The 4000 coat on the headers inside and out, and the normal coat (1500?) Inside (they blocked off the cats) and outside the Xpipe. 1 3/4" ARH and it runs so cool the cup holders don't get warm nor does the cubby. After about 10 minutes of cooling of, no joke you can touch the primaries without burning yourself. On a side note, I also have an E2 tunnel plate so that help with the cubby temp.
I can't say enough about the service and product at Jerhot. It is not cheap, but I am VERY pleased and feel it has been worth every penny.
