Default Anyone know is oem c6 wheel can be used on a Z?

I got caught in the snow a few weeks ago and it sucked especially since I live in a mountainous area.

I commute long distances and rain in one state turns to snow along the way.

This guy has been selling these for awhile:

Man if I would have had these the trip may not have been that bad. I had to keep up higher than comfortable speeds to make it up hills.

Better idea, buy a beater and garage that thing. I bought my Saturn SL2 for $700 and have put 25,000 trouble free miles on it in the past 1.5 years. Even cheaper than that setup.

To answer the question though, yes those wheels will bolt onto your Z. It will likely look goofy though since the wheels will sit far inside the wheel wells. Only think i would double check is that base c6 wheels will clear the calipers without a spacer. I know the offsets are different

Damn...if that thing ever has a serious issue, just leave it on the side of the road and go get another one.

Drivers a 40k corvette... buys a 700 bucks beater.. yup why not.
Some of us dont have room for a beater nor want one.

Back on topic.

OP here is my plan when i get a z06. Take one front wheels off, throw it in the back to test if it fits (my research shows that it should). Then buy 4 front rims and get the appropriate tires for them as snow tires are easier to find for thinner rims.

As far as the c6 wheels. No you need +40 offset to clear the brakes.

Some of us dont want to put 25k miles a year on our vette's...

Not for everyone i guess. Would rather have a car that I do not care about get salt, calcium, sand and everything else all over the chassis. All my friends say the same thing about driving a $700 beater while the corvette stays int he garage, but then again, im the only one with a corvette

I'm lucky...I get a new company car every year that I can drive 24/7/365. The vette is strictly a nice weather toy. If I weren't so lucky, I would also have a "practical" beater. Did this in my pre-career days...had the serious muscle car/performance car, and also had a pick-up truck for hauling crap around, trips to home depot, load up the dirt bikes, etc.

^^^^This. I love my 13 year old Jeep Liberty winter beater. Saved my *** many a time, and not having a car payment is nice too.

Condescending? More so annoyed and disappointed that people cant just stick to the topic instead of repeating the same thing over and over. I've read probably about 20 threads looking up winter tires and the same people keep replying "buy a beater" post after post.
