Default Pics of Aftermarket Valve Covers

I would like to get some slightly taller valve covers to clear my roller rockers. If you have some aftermarket valve covers, can you post a picture and a brand part number.

I like the black Holley valve covers with the coils directly mounted on an angle. I would just like to see what others have done.

Thanks,
John

I went with Proform, they come in a variety of colors. Mine were bare so I could powdercoat CRM, made my own brackets.

Same Proforms, only polished with Proform's coil brackets.

OEM... Nothing out there that's more reliable. My originals lasted 88K miles and still were working fine.

Proforms.... I'm probably going to try the tall Holleys next. I do not like the coils being where they are.

Holley. Will need to move alternator if you want tall ones using built in mounts.

Thanks for the picture; it raises a few questions:
Did you make that special alternator bracket, or buy it?
Do you have to use a longer serpentine belt?
Is that a stock alternator?
If I go with the Tall Holley covers, would I need custom wires?
What's up with coil #7?
What does the red solenoid mounted next to the master cylinder do?

I went with Yella Terra Ultralite LS7 1.8. They come with an extra thick gasket to get rocker cover clearance. I bought them through Tony Mamo.

D3 alternator bracket relo
I have a direct drive system, so already have 4 belts. The PS/Alt belt actually could be shorter. It moves it over and down. Same belt went on but less tension.
No it is a billet tech alternator.
What about coil #7? They are aftermarket coils that I had to make custom mounts for. Thats where it fit. Having it up in line put it right in the flex fuel sensor. Stock coils bolt to valve cover with a relo bracket for the coil by the alternator. The "short" holley covers touch the alternator so tall would be worse.
Red thing is fuel pressure regulator.

What do you not like about the coils locations?

I picked up a set of the proform relocates. Was not impressed with the quality of them.

I do not like the coils up and over the top of the covers. Kind of a PITA to remove the covers, wires need to be longer, so buying options are limited (or home built), makes wire and hose routing at the intake a bit more challenging to look descent. And, I just think they look stupid. The coil on cover looks cleaner to me.

Michael, the D3 bracket thing did give a ton of clearance to alternator to valve covers. Sucks it cost $100, but it did what it was suppose to do. Could probably mount stock coil right on there.

I need to find a source for wires too. I just took the OEM ones and had to swap the ends to the other style. Length is fine and didn't change but the coil end did.

Most relo kits put them in the fenders, then run long wires from the fender to the wires. Not a fan of that from a performance stand point but it does look good.

Yeah the coils are mounted on special brackets in the fenders. Have to extend wiring harness and make custom length spark plug wires. I go to cruise ins and car gatherings and wanted it to look a little more old school with the polished valve covers.

Thanks Nick. Appreciate the comments, as well as the ID info in the other thread. I'll suck it up and order the Holley covers and D3 bracket.
