I got the cam out and a couple new parts showed up. The best part was one of my bolts on the cam plate stripped out so I had to drill it out. 🤦*♂️

I'd like to know how this works out. Is it easy to get at as a standalone mod down the line? Or is this a no brainer when doing heads and cam?

Definitely drill a 1/8" hole in that T-stat. I tried bleeding my coolant system when I installed my Meziere EWP, out of the box T-stat with no holes. It WOULD NOT bleed no matter how much vacuum I put on the system.

Drilled a hole. Fixed it instantly.

Also, I did the same black oxide ARP bolts on my Meziere. They will rust really bad. I found out when I swapped my pump from the SBE to my 454, all ARP bolts had rusted. Just my .02 but I recommend utilizing Summit's great customer service and swapping those for the polished SS bolts.

Thanks Josh I was planning on drilling a 1/8” hole after seeing your thread. This particular thermostat has a bypass valve to allow a small amount of coolant to pass before opening. I wonder if i still need to drill a hole. Probably wouldn’t hurt either way. Are you running SS head bolts?

I don’t know if you would need it on there during tuning since it just free up power. Not sure. I got it for a couple reasons to help with around town driving and keeping temps down and hoping to cool motor better during tuning to maximize my setup.

Mine also has the bypass from Meziere, YES, you'll need the hole in yours still. Bypass, evidently, did nothing.

I cleaned the rust off and re-used them I should have bought Polished SS but cheaped out, or spaced out, one of the two. I highly recommend you exchange yours since yours are still in the box and it won't be an issue for the exchange.

I have about 15k miles on mine. Cools the engine no matter the driving condition. I have not done any track sessions with the car, but I'm guessing that 30 mins of high hp driving would expose any weakness. Mine gives me rock stable engine coolant temps with mile racing and SoCal traffic with the A/C running. I'll probably have Meziere rebuild it in a couple years.

ok thanks just drilled the thermostat. I do have to return the thermostat gasket I bought for a small block since i don’t need it. What did u use for a gasket on the old thermostat input to pump. I believe my original has a gasket attached to thermostat

Do u have an upgraded radiator also? I mostly plan to do 1/2 miles events or would like to atleast. Maybe we will be able to run them one day even though your definitely going to be out ahead

Must be an O-ring on the old T-stat housing because I don't remember using RTZ, and no paper. I don't remember.

I have a DeWitts alum radiator, just has the trans oil cooler. I also use a ZR1 oil cooler so there's a small increased load on the cooling circuit from that. DeWitt's/Meziere handle it all just fine.

Definitely, let's head out to Shift S3ctor one of these days. Hoping my CNC ported Hi Ram with 108mm throttle body will help my top end breathing, and custom 3.5" exhaust to get it all out and help improve the 170.5mph personal best. And of course, helped by the Mamo BC2 for shifting.

thanks you definitely have a wicked build! I think my wife would shoot me if I don’t stop spending here shortly.

Oh oh man what a bummer looks like shift sector is this month. I won’t have my car back for this one

Fantastic! Looks great!

Did you have any prior experience wrapping?

Where did you get your materials. This is something I been thinking about.

Great job!

It is vivid wraps I got off Amazon. It cost me $40 bucks. This was my first time. There is a learning curve there but not bad for first time. It does have some slight imperfections but it's 95% perfect
