[Z06] Just bought a C6 Z06. Not worried about Valves

Warranty companies deny claims all the time. Valve dropped because of abuse, because you missed a shift, because of an over rev, etc. If you do drop a valve, you may or may not be in for a fight.

To the OP, the advise on this forum for years was if you buy an LS7 equipped vehicle either do the preventative head swap OR buy an aftermarket warranty... There are double digit #'s of threads here in the archives where aftermarket warranty purchasing was considered in the overall purchase price of the car.. I am not sure why NOW the consensus is the only option is head replacement? If you are certain your warranty covers total engine replacement costs for $0 deductible, not sure why that's a bad way to go for six years of use?
Value of vehicle argument? After 6 years, this car will be anywhere from 10-17 years old depending on what year Z06 you purchased... How much value in return are you expecting on a 17 year old car?? I doubt the engine swap hurts resale in these cases. These were not ultra rare limited number production vehicles.
I'm having the heads done on my Z because I see no down side to this option. I have no problem with guys using an aftermarket warranty either. Just not the way I want to spend my $$. To each his own.
I am curious though to see how your car does during your experiment. I hope you keep it long enough to post your experiences throughout your ownership. It might prove insightful to many readers.

I would drive the car with confidence and enjoy it. But I'd still get the heads done. Use the warranty for everything else like trans, diff, COMPUTERS, SENSORS, Reverse Lock out, etc. Maybe even heads repaired before it grenades. when you find it out of spec, see if the warranty will fix it. No need to allow your car to be completely dismantled and value depleted due to a neglected head issue.

Agree with most in here about aftermarket warranties...its a bit of "buyer beware". I was fortunate...my GMPP paid for my heads to be redone, aside for some upgrades in materials that I chose to pay for out of pocket. But GMPP today, isn't what a GMPP used to be...now there's the GMEPP, which would probably be about the only one I would consider at this point. Are there good ones out there...maybe, but there are plenty of bad ones (the vast majority).
OP, what the name of the warranty company? Price doesn't seem too outlandish all things considered.

The price of the head fix is wildly under reported on this forum. When I researched it with shops (ie: not doing it myself), I got quotes from 2.8-4.5k. This included the heads, install, tune, gaskets, fluids, etc. If you did it yourself, you would still be looking at $2k+: $1800 AHP heads, $150 install kit, $100 in oil. Still obviously cheaper than a new motor.

Threads like this make me laugh. The factory warranty didn't even cover and engine and you think an aftermarket one will..... when you drop a valve and it destroys your ENTIRE engine you will regret it. The value of your car will be cut in half and u will spend 15k+ replacing the engine.
nothing that warranty will do if that happens, sliding in your own oil.

Smart move as the actually faulty heads sent back to GM were actually less than 1/2 of one percent. This ls7 valve guide failure was an internet built phenomenon that benefited tuners more than owners.
I'd suggest 130k miles for rebuilding the heads to freshen them up.
All early head work was a folly,
Enjoy your awesome new to you ride...

Interesting. The base AHP head is $1,400 plus $495 if you buy the install kit from them, which I assume is complete minus oil. If you did it for less than $1,500, that is great, but it seems like an outlier regarding the price of the fix.
