I use the car for performance events so it is not a show car and I can live with the fit.
Dave, too bad it doesn't fit better. I think it looks bad a$$ and no ones going to notice at +150MPH

I don't have any temperature issues with my HCI setup and DeWitts IOC radiator except on road race circuits. It will be a few months before I get to check that out. On highway driving water stays ~195* and oil about 200*, in stop and go city driving when the fans come on about 205*W and 220*O. The last road circuit I did was 245* W and 290*O on a 100*+ day. My stock 09 with OEM air/oil cooler and radiator would run 240*W and 285*O, but on the highway oil seldom got above 160* except in stop&Go city driving.

With the OEM hood running the Silver State Challenge at a steady 150 MPH for 90 miles, water would run 220* and the oil 240* in 5th gear at 4800 rpm steady.

Fits fine with enough work/effort. Took me a solid 40+ hours of fitting it, and now I'm as happy as can be. Mine has zero of those issues now, but took a lot of work to get it there.

They all need adjusting. My buddy's had the exact same initial fitment issues when we installed it. After hours and hours of adjustments it is now acceptable and nowhere near as bad as Dave's. If you send it back the next one will do the same thing. It needs more adjusting and I wouldn't accept those gaps, even on a track car. His works great now though and he runs cooler on the track.

What he said.... For that kind of money Dave that hood should fit like a glove..

I'll bet it works great though!

They do fit like a glove, with enough work to fit them. You may need to slot or modifiy the hood hings, and latches to give more adjustment. Fenders and front bump may need adjusted. The 3 I've seen all fit great, but take a TON of time to get fitted correctly, just like any other hood.

Bummer...... That's pretty f'ed up Dave. I'd tell LG to pound sand and get me another hood on their dime if it's that bad. 1.5" above the fenders is horrible

I'm still inclined to believe it can be adjusted better though. I wasn't blowing smoke when I said it's a time consuming PITA. And for what it’s worth, the fenders and bumper do not move much at all……. If your body shop told you they move and can be aligned, they are not being totally honest. I know this for certain, because I tried to move them.

Mine was the same way, until I adjusted it.

The body shop did move one of the fenders within its adjustment range to get the hood to fit like it does now. I consider, for my purposes, the hood fit is OK. On a show car, it wouldn't.

Unreal, I know if I tried to play around with it, the result would not be an improvement. My wife is smart, she calls the plumber to save money from calling the plumber to fix what I tried to fix. I know what I can work on well and when to have professionals do it right.

My hood was identical to that when I first put it on. I adjusted it out. The factory adjustment may not be enough, and you may have to slot the mounts/etc but it will fit better. CPR has done those hoods several times, and I've seen them on cars at his shop, great fitment. I would find another body shop, and let them go at it.

the one my customer norm did, unreal i think you met him w/ the red grandsport i did forever ago. He did this hood and the fitment is flawless. Elite automotive finishes did it and warned him the time to get it perfect but he didn't mind.

You will see mine in October when the ARH 2" headers and ID 725s get installed.

ID1050x are the smallest ID makes anymore FYI. No reason to run anything small than that. Could be hard to find a set of used or old 725s, nor would I want to unless the price is crazy low. The 1050s are a big step forward.

Yah, looks like some places still have them, but they did stop making them awhile ago. I guess if there is still inventory cool, they are good injectors. IMO the 1050s are still the way to go because of the all fuel compatibility and better magnets, filters, etc.

Since when did 40+ hours of fitting a premium body panel become acceptable? A little bit of fitting is expected, but if it takes 40 hours to get it right, the product is junk IMO.
