I just installed the Holley tall covers on my 427 Convertible. I had to cut the supplied bracket in two, and invert the coil near the alternator to clear. I expected these to be powder coated, but it’s just paint. There were scratches already on my he covers, and I scratched it more installing them. The LS7 stickers were too big for the valve covers, so I put them on the fuel rails. What do you all think?

Line closest to oil fill goes to valve covers, line coming out of CC (Fresh air before TB)
Side of can goes back to oil tank...

I hate that word - Corvette tax. It implies that we come up with a number that we need to stay in business and then tack on some arbitrary amount because we know people will pay it. We sell them for what we need to sell them for to stay in business while still casting them and machining them here in Michigan. We pay our employees to machine them so they can have a career and healthcare for their families. I could have them cast and machined over in China I suppose. Then lay off our CNC machine shop workers and they can collect unemployment and go on Obamacare. But, I'd rather not do that. If I could sell them for half the price I would, because I would sell 10 times as many. But, we do have a market for people who would like a quality part cast and machined in Michigan by American workers, so we continue to sell them.

I had to flip #1 to fit the coil next to the alternator. Then I flipped #5 to make space for a LS7 or 427 sticker between coils. I did the same thing with 4 and 6. Still not enough room. So I put the LS7 sticker on the fuel rails.

FWIW...D3/Prospeed sells an aluminum spacer to move the alternator away from the coil when using Holley tall valve covers. Nice idea, but not exactly cheap for an aluminum block (~$75).

Yea, I saw that. Holley gives you a relocation bracket, but I had to modify it (cut it in two) to fit my fat round coils. I’ll spend the $75 on something else. Maybe better looking fuel rails.

Well after saying all winter "I have all winter to do it" I realized its mid april and I should get going on this project. Luckily new england has had a terrible spring so far so I havent missed any real driving time.
All the goodies:
Fender removed. pretty straight forward
2nd attempt on mounting the coil bracket. 1st one interfered with the fender tab that protrudes near that area. Had to move it up. Coil wiring will come through top hole, plug wires will go through bottom hole.
have to say im a little disappointed in the michigan motorsports coil relocation brackets. The spacers included are not quite long enough and when all 4 are bolted to the bracket, they can shake around like a rattle. Going to have to find a way to correct that.
Made one wire and should finish up the drivers side tonight. I noticed that my coil side terminals are a little different than the MSD wires i took off. The terminal on the original wires appears to have a black "guide" around it, whereas the ends that i bought from MSD dont. Any ideas? The boots say LS1 and I know they have the same coils as LS7 so im not sure if it matters or not.
Also will be ordering some fittings and line for my valve covers/PCV project and some wire sheathing to clean up the engine bay

Yep. I basically just removed the ones that common sense told me to and it almost came off. Missed one hiding under the cowl that the internet told me was there and it pulled right off. Cant believe how light those things are haha
