CEL after muffler delete
I have a bone stock 2011 Z06 which I had the Bi mode mufflers removed. Also temporarily, I had all of the piping after the X-pipe removed as well. I didn't have the vacuum lines plugged but I have the fuse permanently pulled (read this is more or less the same thing). About 15 minutes after driving, the code came up (can't remember the number) but the description was along the lines of electronic valve exhaust absent or something like that. Sooo, what can I do to keep that CEL off?

Pretty sure those vacuum lines should be capped off.... I'd at least start there.

Thanks for the replies and as an update, it's p0449 and p801. Evap and reverse lockout solenoid control circuit. Any ideas on the second one before I go postal on this shop Monday??

I'm pretty sure the fuse popped when the exhaust was removed. Happened to me when I did the muffler mod. I got the same code. Check the fuse I bet it's popped. Don't remember exactly which fuse it is but it's for the reverse lock out and the evap vent solenoid.

What Dan and others have said.... Had my BB Fusions installed last week... Fired up, threw a CEL.... The installer knew exactly what he had done and sure enough neglected to plug the solenoid back in... shut car off, plugged in, erased code... good to go!

So I looked underneath and I didnt see anything unclipped or broken. I was told to hope it's not the solenoid because it happened immediately after the shop removed the mufflers. I guess I'll have to bring this in to my local dealership and see what they say.

Sounds like the rear harness got damaged when the mufflers were removed.

Depends. It can be, or you can just split/fix what was damaged. I got a used one of ebay for $200, then swapped it myself. There is a lot of wiring up there. If someone wasn't gentle removing the mufflers they can easily damage all that wiring.

Update: I checked the wrong fuse the first time and so I did and replaced it with one of the spares. Sure enough, cleared all the CELs and everything is back to normal.
