Mainly just playing around with lighting and camera angles, but here's another video. Next one will be installing a Vitesse throttle controller (are these still popular with the C6 crowd?)

Current status of engine. This was a mess after I got it. 50k miles of Arizona dust.

Not really, just a couple screen grabs from the walk around video.

This is cool. I'm fascinated by this story. You're going to turn this ZR1, which didn't look terrible but certainly needed attention, into an awesome gorgeous machine! Keep the videos and updates coming!

Yes, the Vitesse product is very popular, and a good, easy to install mod, IMHO. The throttle delay on the C6s seems excessive to me, so this eliminates that issue. Glad you like it.

Car is looking great!

Stay tuned for the detailing vid! A few different products: soapy water, diluted simple green, einszeitt cockpit premium, einszeitt gummi pfledge, and a lot of various brushes.

I'm impressed how clean you got it. Did you have to spray water on it? If not I'm wondering how you got to everything so clean if you didn't spray water onto the engine.

I haven't used a hose or pressure washer yet. This was achieved through a liberal use of hand sprayer and letting everything soak before agitating. Then wiping and re soaking. All done in the garage thus far.

That's pretty good for being hand wiped. Is that going to be good enough or are going to do a light spray to finish off?

I'll definitely be doing more with the hose and gentle spray. Also planning to try a wheel glaze or something on the intercooler top and some new to me rubber and plastic products.

Nice job op. Very cool ZR. Went through a similar experience much lesser value when I bought my first vette. Higher mileage one owner car. I already had a higher mileage toy and didn't want to go that route again because I kept enhancing it with new oem trim panels interior, steering wheel windshield etc. but in the end I got a much newer vette than I had budgeted for and after the few grand of mods and enhancements people never believed the car had 90k miles on it. I think you will do the same and be in love with such a rare super car.

If I didn't already do an 08 c6 for 3 yrs I would easily have been enamored enough with the ZR's to have purchased one. Yellow or white with all black love them with the cup wheels.

Anything you come across worn inside buy new including the steering wheel, seat foam, the driver's side plastic sill piece that gets destroyed etc. it will be under 4 or 500 and make you feel like it' a new car. Ps if you're doing hide events clean it up, replace the windshield with a non hud and have the front ppf'd and the new windshield covered as well they make a product for it 3m and another company. This way you'll feel like you're driving a new one and all the changes you make will keep.

Look forward to seeing the vids.

Ps. Blog this thing and if it takes off you'll have that investment paid back to you in a year maybe less. Guy with 489k subscribers making 18k monthly with his C7Z.

Thanks for the tips. Man, I can't imagine making money from videos...that seems so crazy. I obviously don't have much in the way of creative ideas or editing skills. Just a camera and a tripod, but I'm enjoying documenting everything so far. If other people are too, then that's even better!

I love the beer sip in the videos! that's how I would do it as well! Cheers!

you're doing an incredible job brother. at that price, I would have bought it as well.

you should get some nice high res photos of it after you're done detailing the exterior.
