Has anyone tried out the new Toyo R888Rs that had R888s previously? I am on my second set of R888s and am absolutely in love with them. Grip for track days, grip for street, won't kill me in the rain and lasted me about 8,000 miles with track days.

My ONLY slight gripe would be the whining noise at speed. Looking at the tread pattern, I'm wondering if they reduce the noise at all? Either way I'll try these next time, just wondering if anyone beat me to it and can provide some feedback.

Should be a little quieter per the reviews Ive read. They dont currently offer any sizing options for us 18/19 guys

Yes they do offer sizes now for C6 Z06. They just released the 19 in 345. You can get it at Phil's tire service. Initial reports so far are pretty good. We have a thread going on in the Autocross/Roadracing forum.

I am getting ready to buy some backups to my NT01 (which I love) and very high probability I will go with R888R in 295/30-18 front and the new 345/30-19 rear.

I'm very interested in the R888Rs in 18/19s. My MPSSs are downright scary with the new 454 combo.

Hmm. I didn't know the R888Rs were available in our sizes. I have my 295/345 R888 for my 19/19 wheel combo waiting for me at discount tire now but I'm going to see if I can switch them out for the Rs...

At Watkins Glen last weekend there was a pretty fast Doug Rippie built C5Z running R888R. I was on NT01 and he could keep up with me and I run pretty fast. He said he liked them alot. Got up to temp about as fast or faster than me. Not sure if they heat cycle out and turn greasy like the R888 though, but the new tread design and sidewall look promising.

But the NT01 seem to run forever and once down to about 2 to 3 32nds of tread with two grooves left turn into EXTREMELY sticky race slicks. I love them when they get there. That's the sweet spot, and they are very sticky up to that point as well. I will probably grab a pair of R888R as my back-up set and try them with NASA next month.

So your running 295/30/18 and 345/30/19??? Thats over a 2" tire height difference??

Well, your problem is obvious- the 454 is no good for you. Give it to me and your problem is solved!

I'll be running the 19/19 setup with 295/345 R888s and the % difference between front and rear is identical to the 19/20 OEM cup wheel setup I'm running now.

LS7 solstice is, but I dont see anyone else saying that. In a 19/19 you are correct

Not sure if you are looking for the 18/19 OEM sizes. It sounds like everyone has found that the fronts 275/35-18 are available, but the rears are not 325/30-19.

I sent a message to Toyo and here is their reply:
"The new Proxes R888R 325/30ZR19 (101Y) is set for production in May and we should have our first shipment sometime in June"

I have R888r's and I dont know that they are any quieter than the 888's but the tread pattern puts more tire on the road it appears. The compound is reportedly the same, the sidewall is supposed to be a little stiffer. They hook up as good as my NT05R's did without all the NT05r drama

Put me down as interested and waiting for the 325/30-19 rears. My Michelin Pilot Super Sports have the death wobble! By the way, Michelin's attitude about the death wobble is pi$$ poor. They are certifying their tire as being safe for 186+ mph and it goes into death wobble at 130 mph. I would expect that Michelin would at least send me a registered letter telling me not to run my MPSS tires at speed! I guess my life is not worth much to Michelin, after all I am 67!

Probably haven't updated the PDF. Simply go to his site and add them to your cart and they show as available. 325s are still incoming though.
