C6Z Stereo Upgrades
Anyone move to a component system? Obviously not a ton of space for amps.....Got my 07Z in February and would like to do some upgrades. Will be adding subs too. Any overall recommendations? I have the alpine IVE-535HD HU.
Havent been very pleased with the Bose system so far....any great set up or maybe speaker swap recommendations would be awesome!

I cannot speak to specs but the setups that I have seen have had the components mounted in the dash and behind the seats on the wall. Subs are the easy part.

I wanted subtle but quality, and just upgraded the stereo with:
- Pioneer AVH4200NEX (CD/DVD iPhone, backup cam, Sirius, etc.)
- Replaced all OEM speakers with Alpine
- JL Audio Stealthbox (designed for the C6)
Words cannot adequately express the dramatic improvement in sound quality. Night and day.

Interesting, so just speaker swaps made a huge difference? The stock amp will pair with other speakers? Or are those Bose speakers self-amped. I know virtually nothing about the set up.
which alpine did you go with? Also what sizes are in the hatch and the doors? Any other speakers in there?

Head Unit: Pioneer AVH-4200-NEX
Amp: Alpine PDX-V9 (100w/500w)
Speakers: Alpine R-S65 (6.5"); Alpine SPR-50 (5.25"); Memphis Audio PRX3 (3.5")
Subwoofer: JL Audio Stealthbox (10")
It sounds really, really good.

I went with Arc Audio when I had mine. 2 amps, both mini, fit where the stock amp was, a custom made sub box, Pioneer HU. It sounded pretty damn good. I still have everything but the HU, I'm debating putting the speakers in my GT350 but I should sell the rest.

I got sick of looking so I just called Dennis at Double D Mods. Good convo with him and he is making me a custom set up with component speakers for a super reasonable price! Custom box with a JL Tw3 and I believe 5 1/4's.
pretty stoked

I went with an Illusion Audio carbon component system, fits behind the doors with a clean look and excellent sound, the amp is mounted behind the passenger seat.
The sub is a custom fiberglass box in the back hatch with a 10" Focal sub.

Wow, those look awesome! Dennis at Double D Mods sent me a pic and it's similar to that atomic Orange set up pic, just carpeted though.
And the system is a Tw3 with 500w to it, and 4 focal 5 1/4's I believe with a 4x75w powering them. I'm stoked! We talked about the stealthbox but I wanted something a little better than that w1 that comes in the steath box.
I'd definitely recommend calling DD if anyone is ever curious about upgrading. He didn't try and upsell me at all and was familiar with everything he sold in detail (rattling off mounting depths and wattages and sub air-space requirements). We even are going with a Kenwood amp lol, I'm taking his word for it
