Default C6 Z06 1/2 mile times

Post a thread in the General Info, but wasn't get much response.

I'm looking to see if there is a fastest C6 list in the 1/2mile similar to what the C5 section has done..

This would be great. I was curious how fast most of the corvettes went this past weekend at the wannagofast event in north Carolina. I ran 168 in the heat.

I got 167 with traction, but at 2800' DA.

I got 168 at the TM spinning on MPSS.

Notice how it gained 5mph in the 1/4 with traction. In good air I'm shooting for 170 mph NA.

I did 164.7mph at Omega NoFlyZone in IL this weekend with a nasty headwind. This was from a 40mph roll. And bounced off the rev limiter in 4th a few times... didn't want to shift into 5th!

2640' (1/2 mile )standing start in 17.68 sec at 161.96 MPH on short 315/35/17 at 7300 RPM.

Next time I'll gear the car more for V-Max with a taller tire so I hit the 1/2 mile marker at or near my max RWHP of 6800 RPM. should push it up into the upper 160's.

I also was at the nfz in illinois a few weeks ago. Every single car was doing a different pass. Starting from a dead stop, 30 roll, 40 roll, 50 roll, 60 roll, I even saw numerous cars backing up at least an 1/8 mile. I had no Idea what times anyone was doing to compare mine to? I did do a 30 roll and did a 159. I really didn't care either because I had a lot of fun and no one broke down, so it was all fun and games.

If we're talking about all C6's then I'll toss this in for the ZR1's:

Great mph. I can't imagine you will find a significant gain (high 160s) with a slight gear change alone. Based off the info provided your 7300rpm might only be a little higher than what should be a target trap rpm. From what I can gather, you want to be about a standard deviation to the right of the power peak, say, 300 rpm past it. Gearing it to finish at exactly the peak hp rpm might be leaving some of that power on the table, IMO, because you want to be able to chew on that power for a few seconds and enjoy it as the power doesn't fall off much with HCI cars. But this is all just theory, real world is always different as we know, I could be wrong.

I did 162.9 mph at 590rwhp.
I did 168 mph at 690rwhp.

In my experience it takes a lot of power to significantly impact half mile trap mph, or quarter mile mph for that matter.

Do you have a video? I bet that thing sounded like lucifer's weedwacker when you ran it out to 7300.

Hey Josh,

My best cone run was also a 162.9
I didn't have any VBox data for that run to compare too as I failed to hit the record button

My thoughts are that if the weather conditions were the same and I didn't spend so much time spinning and pedaling the car, I could have pulled a 26.5" - 27.0" tire to 6900-7000 RPM into the traps, which is 200-300 over my max RWHP per my last dyno. I wanted to run my street tire as well at this event but didn't have a support vehicle to transport them for me. Additionally, with the shorter tire on the rear, I had a nose high rake to the car causing lift and drag. I think if I can address those key issues, I can eek out a few more MPH out of her at the next event, but theory and reality don't always jive

Your current combo is a benchmark for me. It would be cool to see what your time intervals were to MPH, as many use the 60-130 MPH benchmark as well.

The C6 ZR1 fast list does have a section for 1/2 and 1 Mile speeds.

I basically ran the same speeds except my 168 was on a small shot of Nitrous which is the basically the same whp as your 454. It takes a lot go get into the 175 range. Probably 800whp. Maybe I will run a 200 shot and find out next 1/2 mile I run.

I bought the same brand/Kit # of NO2 as you installed, but won't install it until later this year

I agree that high 160's-low 170's needs some serious N/A power.

Morris went 220mph in his c6z this weekend at CO shift sector (10k+DA). Still ironing bugs out.

I wonder if the mods could make this thread a sticky, or maybe it could be blended into the C6 Z06 Fast List ? It seems these type of events are becoming more plentiful and popular.

I'm not hating at all but isn't it kind of pointless to post up the MPH without knowing the mods on the cars? Maybe it's just me ...

Agreed. I would like to see the same format as used in the Fast List for the 1/4 mile stuff

Hopefully an admin can sticky this. 1/2 mile is very popular.

I'll be running my new to me 08 C6Z at the WGF event here in Dallas this coming Nov..
H/C/I/E.... As a comparison... My 414ci C5Z w a 150 shot of Nitrous ran a best of 160 in a 1/2 mi roll race event...
At the last WGF standing 1/2 mi event I ran 155 NA..( had tuning issues) Can't wait to run my C6Z!
