Default Z06 dropped off at American Heritage

I dropped off one of my cars today (Saturday) with Kohle at American Heritage. I drove 2.5 - 3 hrs to do so. I need to say; he lives up to the reputation! He is in there, wrenching away on a Saturday, gettin'er done. I'm very impressed. He's not an owner that sits in an office. He's hands on, big time. He rebuilds motors himself. This guy runs a well oiled, well tuned, lean machine. He has 9 employees. Started as just him. He runs his place like an old school business where they want customers happy and choose that, over money.
On this 09z I just got 2 months ago, they're reworking my heads, adding a mild cam package, and pulling my tranny and fixing some notchiness in 2nd gear. I am very stoked for the things we discussed to get this car reliable, and pushing some extra power for a very reasonable price. Kohle really knows his materials, trade, and the cars. It's plain as day. I have been blown away at the organization of the shop, the respect for everyone; old customers, new customers, employees.
They started as one bay, then expanded to 2, now to 3 bays. It sounds like they're still growing! I hope they continue to grow and I wish these guys nothing but the best. Check out their website! Wish every business did business like these guys...

What kind of valve guide material did you decide to go with?

I had them freshen up my modified stock cast heads and install their MS90 guides. The work, communication, and timeliness were nothing short of amazing. Your car is in great hands.

Congrats Dave, excellent choice. Doing any other work, or just the head fix?

Default Transmission is apart and getting inspected. TR6060 out of an 09 z06

2nd gear was a bit notchy when driving. Even though the car was just purchased with 9k miles, there was a bit of wear. I'm glad the guys at AHP are getting it taken care of. Everything done under one roof is great.

The trans laid out. 09 Z06. TR6060 transmission

I drove about 2 hours to AHP to get my heads done.
Now I need a clutch and a few other things and can't wait to take my car. It's always good to know my Z is in good hands specially when a shop tells you what you don't need, so you don't do useless spending. Usually shops want to sell you more stuff but here Khole tells you exactly what you need.
Awesome shop !

I think AH should open a second shop on the east coast. Preferably northeast FL.

These heads looks brand new now.

Heres a video clip of the cammed LS7 idling.

Sounds even more nuts than it used to. Happy face
I would recommend these guys. AHP did a great job on this build.

Love the sound of that idle! What is the cold air intake that you are running? If Donaldson/GM hadn't screwed over the ZR1/LS9 community so bad by discontinuing the G2 filters that we four-cat'd Z06's were summarily given to compensate, I wouldn't have to cringe at the prospect to install the more restrictive LS3 filter some day.
