Any idea if you can slip fire sleeves over these? Perhaps not necessary / overkill, but I have a set I was planning to use. Looks like they 'might' fit, but the handle area will be tight.

I doubt it.

Not a fan of fire sleeves anyways. Never lost a wire because of heat. If they are routed properly, and quality, no reason for that. Stock heat shields work wonderfully.

The Pro Mod boots are pretty sweet. They are firm enough to get them seated to the plug correctly, without sliding on the wire (like the MSD will do), but you can also bend them as needed to get them away from the primary tube. I believe they also have a pretty good heat rating, so sleeves should not be necessary. I don't particularly like the orange color, but I can live it......

I like the Taylor wires, have used them on both my corvette and camaro with no complaints. On and off many times and still good. I bought a set of gm wires on my last plug change and just had to do some work that required me to remove the wires. Of the 4 wires I removed 3 of them the metal end ripped off of the wire and I had to make the repair. My Taylor wires are being delivered today. I see people like firecore wires. I can almost buy 3 sets of Taylor wires for the price of firecore, what is so good about Firecore that could convince me to switch?

I agree I have had to buy another set and replace the wires that keep.splitting or cracking causing my car to run like a 4 cylinder p.o.s.

hi, I have a 08 base model, bought it with some accell extreme ceramics but broke one as i was taking it off. looking to upgrade now, would the Firecore 50s with promod boots work the same for the base model, i know we have different coil packs but I don't know if it changes anything.

Totally the opposite! Take a look at the connectors on the OEM, and take a look at the connectors on the MSD. they do not fall off and 70 ohms resistance per wire

Know a guy running 9s on Napa wires. Says it all. 40 bucks. Hyperbole for 3-4 " of actual wire. As long as the ends are quality to snap securely.

My MSD red wires, with Kool Sox, have been off and on many times,no issues. OH-Almost forgot-Theyve been on the car for 19 years/110,000 miles. No missing, no problems of any kind. Until they do give trouble, why fix it if it's not broken?....

Oem ls7 wires are decent. Other oem ls wires not so much (trucks). I currently have both msd and firecore wires and the firecore seem like they're better quality. After coming off about 3 times, the msd have lost the positive click you want to hear when installing. The firecore have been off 3 times too and still click like new. Zero difference in actual performance

Switched over to Firecore after having problems with the factory wires falling off...no more problem.

In order to get that positive snap back again, you sometimes need to gently squeeze the eyelet/round metal piece at the sparkplug end of the wire. Just a small amount will make that a tight fit again. You can practice just what constitutes a tighter fit by using an old sparkplug. If it snaps there, it'll snap on the plug in the engine. It works for me.
