That set up should make over 600 on pump gas, I just finished my 429 with Reher Morrison doing the work forged piston's Matt finished my tune up 2 weeks ago very pleased car makes more power from start but chokes up with 13/4 headers anything over 550 u need a bigger header, I'm using the lgs time to make up the power up top. Low end torque was 515....good luck 21 century dis my previous cam set up.

We did not get to see the lifters or the cam from the damage done, but from the parts found in the oil pan and pickup, it had a locked up axle/wheel to the lifter and lifter let go. There are bits and pieces of the roller bearings from the lifter axle in the pan long with pieces of the roller on the lifter. Few nice small pieces of the engine block as well.

So the rocker I presume was the culprit...

Here are some more pictures of the bottom being getting built. The guys at HPR are over at the shop staying late to get the engine built in time for me to make it to Optima Pikes Peak. Thanks guys!

No, stock lifter took a crap. Probably spread at the wheel, because the axle came out and pushed all the bearings out. The axle then did the damage to the stock block.

Looks like your making one heck of a mill over there

What's the manufacturer of the crank, rods, and pistons?
What type of valvetrain will you be running?

The std deck 468 is something of our own design, and we do sell them separate as short blocks, long blocks, or finished engines. Below is what you will find as far as this particular build includes.
  • Darton sleeved 5.3L Gen IV block
  • K1 forged, long post, 4.25" stroke crankshaft
  • HPR spec 6.125" forged H beam rods by Wiseco
  • HPR designed forged pistons by Wiseco
  • HPR ring pack
  • HPR custom ground cam 254/260 .655/.655
  • HPR double taper pushrods
  • Morel 5206 link bar lifters with .750 wheels
  • Cometic head gaskets
  • WCCH ported LS7 heads (customer supplied)
  • LS7 rocker arms
  • Katech oil pump

That is what we are assembling here, 21st Century Muscle Cars and the customer are taking care of the rest.

To finish first, one must first finish the race....

Going on a road race engine for realiblity when the customer isn't using a bottomless bank account you must pick your items wisely for both power and long lasting performance.
