Default head job, what else do you need

Hi, Iḿ just getting heads back from AHP and as engine is open what gaskets, seals etc. do i need if i want to renew them all.. off course head gaskets and exhaust gaskets.. but what else? This job is done in Finland, i'm at Florida now and it's easy to purchase every single piece now rather than order them later and wait for weeks to get them.. thanks in advance!

AHP offers a complete set of all the gaskets etc. you'll need to put it all back together. It's not just gaskets, you need new head bolts also. Call them and they'll hook you up.

Get ARP Head studs, easy to install and torque down. Plus you can reuse them if you ever do cam and need to install new lifters.

Install new lifters & trays while your'e in there, no matter how many miles on the originals. Cheap insurance.

I took springs & retainers from Kohle as well as that head swap kit, that' what he suggested. Have you guys needed any other parts like intake manifold seals, steampipe seals etc.. my mechanic said i need new belt tensioner..

Hello Harri,

Sent you an email reply this evening.
The intake manifold seals are typically reusable on lower/mid mileage cars although we do change them when they start to get a little flat.
Steampipe seals are actually o rings that do not need to be replaced.

We have everything you need (including the belt tenisoner) and can ship with your heads early next week.

We literately stock everything for these cars. If you need anything just ask.

Personally.. I think ARP head studs are a waste of money for most people. If you want reusable fasteners, just get ARP head bolts. You'll save $100.

A lot of nitrous or boost, a different story.

I've had a lifter tray fail on my camaro. Too easy to replace now. No reason not to.
