Default Steering wheel center cap options?

Thought this would be simple. Took lass than an hour to swap out a new steering wheel I got from VetteCandy, then I moved onto the air bag cover.... Should have just stopped there and sent it to Sergio.

I managed to screw up the air bag center cap, trying to remove the little aluminum POS. Grrrr..... Who would of thunk the tabs are bent underneath the plastic.

Might as well install something different if I'm gunna have to pay a ridiculous amount for a new one (which I'm sure it is).

Can't seem to find anything after a few searches. Anyone know where I might find something?

I'd love to find a zr1 center for my car. The brief search I did didn't pull up anything. Subbed.

The caps are not available seperate, you will have to buy a whole airbag. Or else get with Apsis, they make some overlays, but they are not cheap.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a zr1 airbag and swapped mine out.

Looks like Apsis it is...... Dammit. So much for not putting a bunch on money into a friggin steering wheel. Ordered the machine spoke covers to go with the center cap.

Just FYI, and for whatever it's worth I read a LOT of unsavory things about Apsis on the interwebs and other forums. No personal experience. Just passing along what I found when I was looking at steering wheel options.

Only heard good things about this guy, but it sounds like it takes a while:

I already have the wheel. Just needed the center cap replaced.

Those are very nice looking SW's, but way too fancy for my tastes. Plus, I hate slippery wheels.

Yeah I know. He does the customer leather stitched center caps too, so I thought he might have a solution for you..

Yeah the CF looks nice but I agree it would be a bit slippery. I think he does all-leather wheels too though. I think he can customize pretty much any setup someone wants.

But if you are in a rush, probably not the best solution.

Don't forget to check Ebay.

A couple pics for the inquisative types...... The tabs on the cap are inserted into slots on the air bag. They then get bent inward, to the air bag center. I suspect the plastic cover is installed over the bag, after the center cap in fit.
