Cabin Noise Coming from the HVAC vents
Hi everyone from the awesome CV community,
After many years of drooling on magazines and Youtube I've finally purchased my dream car: The 2012 Z06 Centennial Edition w/ CC brakes
The car is running strong with what I believe typical LS7 valve train noise. However, I've noticed some cabin noise coming from the central only HVAC that seems to be engine related and it's diving me nuts
The sound does increase as the engine revs higher but then reaches a plateau above 3k.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks and kindest regards,
-Lorenzo

Post a video of the sound, or try to describe it in detail.

Try holding the lever tightly in gear and see if it changes before anything else

Not that it's a perfect scenario for troubleshooting, but try posting a video of the sound.

I really appreciate all the replies as it's driving me nuts.
The engine only has approximately 1k miles as it was replaced by an extended warranty program. It's a 2013 engine: 10H161322611304; that was fully inspected before mounting.
I'll inspect the chattering gear lever today and let you guys know and I'll also post a video of the sound.
It seems that the sound only comes to life when the engine reaches its proper running temperature after about 8-10 minutes of running.
Thanks!

Ah, it could be a number of things with a motor just being replaced.

Hi guys,
I've finally recorded a video of the sound inside the cabin which I think nails it well.
I'd really appreciate you guys' input. You'll probably need to wear earbuds to hear it right.
