Default Akraprovic Exhaust

I was wondering has anyone had a problem with the bracket that hold the two mufflers together? On mine one side broke off at the weld. I had a muffler shop weld it back on but broke off immediately. I suspect they did not use titanium to weld it. Other than that it still sounds an looks great.

I had the identical problem.

The first weld was accomplished by an individual who welds everyday. Didn't last.

My engine builder who is a prototype engineer volunteered to attempt a second weld. Success!

My system is stainless.

Contact Akrapovič. Known problem on C6/Z06 Akrapovič mufflers due to vibration. They have an upgraded bracket, a bracket that attaches the two mufflers by the pipes, and the TIG welding rod you need to replace the welded bracket. You need a good welder that does TIG welding for Ti or SS metals.

Love the forum!! Thanks for the information! Mine hasn't done it "yet" but with the work I've had done, there is quite a bit of vibration.

When I bought mine new a handful of months ago it didn't come with the extra bracket between the pipes shown here. But, it did come with the more robust square shaped welded mount already in place.

Yes. That's how I found the break, looking for the source of the noise.

I had the same issue on my Stainless Steel catback. I had it welded and it's been fine since then.

Has anyone had success in contacting the Manufacturer about this?
I guess HRE was the supplier but all they could do was provide me with an email address.I sent an email but nothing yet.
