Your "home made" CAI looks 10x better then the synergy units for sure...

My buddy has the twin to your car, so I get to dabble a little with a ZR1 myself.

His also had the melted brick with coolant and metal everywhere. His is a CAI, LPE snout, 2.6 upper, 2" ARH headers/X pipe, Corsa Cat back. He also has the D3 cooling stuff..... It makes right at 600 rwhp on 93. He is trying to hold back on modding it more, he came from a 900 rwhp 5.0 mustang that stayed broken so..... He is following my lead and just cruising/doing appearance stuff.

thanks bud, my buddy defiantly did some nice work for sure.
i don't really plan on doing anything else to the car for a bit, I'm curious what it will make with the 2.35 and e85, should be a fun all around setup.
your buddies car looks great, extremely clean.

Your build is awesome! So much attention to detail! White zr1s are killer. Can't wait to see the numbers it puts down. Keep us posted!

update.
well car is finally coming to the end stages of being complete. my tuner had a lot of issues with this car but he got them all straightened out and it drives like a stock car. would never know we even did anything to it.
it made 642/625 on 93 pump gas. intake temps would never go above 108 degrees after a pull on the dyno. no ice used yet. tons of room left. it made this with 16 degrees, it would take more but he kept it conservative, we will turn it up on E. should start tuning e85 tonight/tomorrow.
car drives amazing, it took him a TON of time to make it drive nice with the large intake and injectors but like i said, just like a stock car with stock idle.

one HUGE issue we had with the car is that it would randomly jerk while cruising, turned out after a few days of trial and error and a lot of swears that it was the hole we cut in the radiator shroud to allow more air to get to the filter. while cruising it would randomly jerk due to a wind gust or whatever... closed the hole off and it solved the issue. pretty weird these cars are that sensitive to air flow LOL.

well, we have come to the conclusion that the stock fuel pumps can't handle e85 with this setup. couldn't even handle E50 so back to the drawing board.
ill most likely be going with a fore triple setup. I'm a fan of doing it right the first time and I'm not to keen on drilling the tank for the aux pump setup. i was really against doing a fuel system in this car but i want to utilize everything i put into it and really want the safety (and power) that the E85 has to offer, but for now its back to pump 93.

i will say for the few pulls we did with e85, the car is an ANIMAL. feels like it will EASILY pick up 80+whp when fully tuned on the corn.

some current pics of the car. my buddy was finally able to fab up the mount for the intercooler hoses. came out very nice.

only one up this way is on the mass pike. They usually don't have very good stuff, usually in the low 70's from what my friends have gathered.
I have a local hook up with gulf racing fuels that gets me e98 by the barrel and I just mix it with gas. It's kinda pricey but I don't have time to drive down to greenwhich where they usually have good quality e85. When I have another barrel I may start getting some from the mass pike and mix it with the e98. Should last a long time that way and be cheaper in the long run.

with how the car ran on the stuff it makes me want it all the time.
