Tires C6 Z06 best ones?

They are louder than my PSS but not as bad as my previous r888's. A word of caution in that the hearing in my right ear is a bit off because of my surfer ear on that side.

I've seen the R888Rs fail myself on the track. Literally delaminated and came apart on two different P cars. Separated on the inside seam. I think there was in fact a bad batch, but Toyo won't admit it. At WGI with NASA last weekend there was a guy running them though and had no issues and liked them alot. I still see no reason to use them over NT01s, which last longer, do not squeal like stuck pigs, grip just as well, come in OEM sizes and never fail. If the R888Rs improve lap times I would consider them. If someone has some evidence of this then I am all ears. Also interested in their performance in the wet.

I have Toyo R888's as well...592/505 at the tire car. I haven't done burnouts, autocrosses, etc. Have been to the track once (3 passes) and done some spirited driving on the roads. IMO for the money, there isn't a better tire. They were recommended by a buddy who is running a similar car and does more autocrossing...gets 10K miles out of them.
And they've enabled me to **** off some more powerful cars with MPSS's .

My car runs 164.47 in the 1/2 mile so whatever horsepower that is and the Bridgestone RE-11's I have on the car are great on the street. They quit making the fronts in our size. They aren't too bad in the rain if you get caught and fight hard for grip on the dry. I was going to give the R888R's a try next since I can't get the RE-11 fronts. Really disappointed since the RE-11's worked so well. I had the RE-50A's and they didn't hook up very well at this hp level.

I tried the Firestone Wide Oval's that someone asked about on my C5. Great touring tire but I think a modded C6Z would be too much for it when you really want to drive it close to the limit.
In edit, the RE-11's speed ratings is not a Y so keep your top speed in mind if you try this tire on the rear. I was running drag radials in the rear when i did the 164.47 mph and RE-50's up front.
I'll have to consider the kumho 355s.

Another vote for MPSS. I'm running the 345/285 combo. Had a new set installed yesterday, they hold my 575whp/496wtq quite well. A little loose in 1st gear.
My last set lasted 4 years and 30,000 miles. Only changed them because they got hard with age, still had 5k+ of tread life.

I have a similar setup to you. I had the MPSS and HATED them! No traction in 3 gears! Sure they last a long time but all you do is spin. I switched over to Pirelli P-Zero (non-runflats) and its the BEST tire for my car. Little softer compound so it hooks and If you drive a corvette the way it was designed (track or racing) these are great tires! The only bad part is they cost more than MPSS (by about 150 bucks). Good luck with your research.
Regardless, I highly recommend bumping up to 285 fronts, and 345 or 355 rear tires.

Try them and you will know why. Only made in two sizes. Tires meant specifically for the ACR and with the limited number of those cars tire rack cant keep the tire in stock... Outlawed in SCCA... Its like glue is on the tire. I can leave a corner hard in 2nd gear WOT. No other tire I've tried can handle that...
But hey just call me crazy and dont believe what I think. Its already hard enough to get the tire as it is. Last thing we need is more people buying them up.

Nice, I see you too are in Dallas.. Where did you pick yours up from..? I live over off the Tollway.. Frankford/Preston Rd...
Are yours 345's? currently running the Sport Cup II's and I am not a fan... Sticky as hell in the heat... But break loose on 3rd and are not real stable at speeds of 150+..... (ask me how I know)

I have Pilot Super Sports on my Z06. It's a good all around tire. I've tracked my car in wet/dry and there's lots of grip. The 888"s weren't that great in the rain plus they were noisy.
I wouldn't bother with the 888R's unless you're taking the car to the track.
