Refinished my wheels (also a Forgestar warning thread)
I ordered a set of Forgestars last November, and when they finally arrived at the end of February, I was still out of the country, so I didn't get to personally inspect them, but had a friend get them on the car.
As soon as I got to see the car for the first time in June, I immediately realized that one of the wheels was different. It was also the only wheel that I was happy with, because I ordered them in a matte bronze metallic color from ModBargains. It bothered the heck out of me, but after waiting 8 months to see the car, I wanted to deal with it later.
Fast forward 3.5 months, and I decided to take care of it once and for all. This is what Forgestar sent me:

I dismounted the tires and had MTS Coatings (Manhattan, KS) strip and powdercoat them in GM Silver II from Prismatic Powder, which was apparently a GM trim color from the 70s. MTS did an excellent job and the pricing was great too, at $460.

Maybe your vendor ModBargains messed up the order rather than Forgestar?

My forgestars took 16 weeks because they had to go through PC 3 times. Kept having bubbles or mismatch colors. I just kept waiting as they kept redoing. They kept asking if I would take them as is for $100-200 off, but I just waited until they got it right.

maybe it is my eyes playing tricks on me but is " gm silver 2 " actually light gold or am I seeing ****.
either way it looks good and gives me a good idea what my blade silver z06 would look like

Thanks, Nope, stock size 18/19s.
They're definitely gold, which is what I was aiming for...I have had a lot of gold/bronze wheels on various cars over the years and love them.

so i assume they just order raw uncoated wheels for customer, and send them to there local coater for the custom color that vendor offers.
