Hi guys (and ladies). I'm new here. I'm usually on the C3 tech forum, but I just bought this beauty. It's a 2013 427 Convertible with only 7000 miles, and every possible option, including, 1sc, ZR1 wheels and tires, carbon fiber package, 427 Heritage package, ZR1 spoiler, yellow calipers, yellow stitching, car cover, bi-mode exhaust remote control, and it's been clear wrapped to the front doors.
I'm pretty well known for modifying the heck out of my C3, but I'm gonna leave this one in stock, concourse mode. Maybe an cold air intake, and maybe a catless X-pipe, and since the valve guides are suspect, maybe a set of heads, and since the heads are off, maybe a mild cam upgrade, and then it's not stock anymore. I tried.
Right now I need splash guards, and some brake pads that don't dust up the wheel when I drive down the street, and an x pipe. But any advice would be much appreciated.

Beautiful ride. Instantly one of my favorites.
For low dust brakes that don't sacrifice stopping power or reliability, go with Powerstop Z26 or Carbotech 1521.
For the heads, contact Kohle at AHP. He can also spec a cam. Can also go with Texas Speed directly or Cam Motion.
CAI go with Halltech 103/108 or Callaway Honker.
Enjoy!

I f you need brake pads I will be happy to help you with a set of Carbotech 1521 pads.
The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

Agreed on removing the Z06 badges...
Was this the car listed on Ebay? That car used to be local to me and I tried to buy it 3 different times.

I'm already catching it. They are glued to the clear bra, so it must be a late addition. I think the clear bra was done at the dealership. I guess I'm in for grief for a long time.

Actually it started life in Chicago. I have all the paperwork from the original dealer. I'm the third owner. The owner I bought it from moved from GA to Thousand Oaks. He has a beautiful 65 Corvette also. Neither owner drove it much. The carbon fiber front spoiler was replaced with a plastic one, so I guess these spoilers are prone to destruction.

Welcome in! You are going to love driving this car!
Two things, always send your used oil to Blackstone labs for UOI and pay attention to the Titanium in your oil to show if you have any issues going on in the motor, some of these late LS7's had rod and rod bearing issues.
Second, send you heads to American Heritage by 20k miles (or sooner) to have the heads redone. One nice addition that I used was the Corsa X pipe that eliminates the second set of cats and gives it a nice tone to the exhaust with a little more pop in the throttle.

Are you saying that the famous, or infamous valve guide wear issue was not fixed by the 2013 model year? I still need to worry about this? I thought Chevy found and fixed the problem by the 2009 model year. I've got 7,000 miles on the car. Do I need to worry about it before 20,000 miles. I've talked to two Z06 owners that lost their motors due to this. My car still has warranty for another month. What should I do now?

Definitely get rid of those two silly extra cats...corsa makes the direct fit x-pipe for 12/13 models.
