Default 1st time at the track & hit 10s!

Hey guys, today I took the Z to State Capital Raceway in Baton Rouge, La. This was the very FIRST time I’ve ever been on ANY track. Had the help of a Facebook and fellow corvette owner friend who showed up to couch me along from the trackside(signaled to back up into the water, pull forward, burnout, etc). My goal was to hit 130 mph not really focus on ET.

Well here were my runs:
1st -11.27 @ 129.40mph
2nd- 11.33 @ 130.32mph
3rd- 10.92 @ 132.86mph

Yes! That’s awesome my first time on the track and touched 10s. Granted it was high 10s but 10s nonetheless.

H/C/I/E C6Z

and time slip!

Let me know what you guys think!

UPDATE... switched the video link from my Dropbox to YouTube so it’s easier for you guys to view

Tires are MT ET Streets.

They have about 5k miles on them but it’s the first time I’ve ever done a burnout with them. They did well that 3rd run. With a better burnout I might could’ve left a little harder. I’ll find out next time

Nice job Brenton! And I saw the time slip. 10.923 @ 132.86 mph. Great run and that is moving! She has a wee bit more in her too. Awesome results.

Crap I forgot to upload the time slip! Updated first post guys. Im the right lane #111.

Thanks Anthony! Yes she has a bit left in her. I struggled on the burnouts. I had never attempted to do a burnout until yesterday on the track. The guy who showed up to coach me through it all made it sound simple(rev up, dump clutch, stand on brake, get a nice burnout, then roll out and get ready). Pfft! I stalled it out immediately on 2 of the 3 runs haha!

But it I kept my composure and fired it back up both times it stalled and got successful burnouts. However it being my first time I didn’t know how long to hold the burnout. They were short and barely rolled and smoke off the tires. So I figure with a better burnout and leaving slightly harder I can get the time down some.

Overall I was ecstatic. Also shows how capable these cars are. Drove 2 hours there with heated seats on, ran 3 races, then drove 2 hrs home with the AC on getting 24mpg haha!

Very nice.. I hit a 10 my second time out to the track. My first time out I only got one clean run before my stock clutch started to slip. My setup made 580/545. Trapped 133 pretty consistently both times I went out.

I have a new cam now and I'm hoping for a 137ish trap speed.

Great run!!!

Color, cam, and dyno sheet almost exact to mine. My best was 11.07 (132, i think) on 3rd pass, (cecil cty dragway) with 1.8, 60 time. Then i got warned for no roll bar. Running down at MIR rental w these guys on 17th..... shooting for tens as well..... unless stk clutch gives way.

Trailering it, but only for insurance against any bad luck.

I run the K501 cam too, and the same basic setup but with 12:1 compression and E54 fuel
With more seat time and a Hoosier drag radial, mid to lower 10's at 133+ are possible, especially with your DA

I run anywhere from 132-135 traps here in AZ with crappy DA. ET's are in the 10.4 to 10.8 depending on track prep and DA, but I feel it has a bottom 10 in it with a DA under 1000' and cold air in the 50's.

yeah I feel like she has 10.5 in her if I can do my part. What did you put down on the dyno with that CR and E54?
