Default Lower balljoints

Looking to replace them all with AC Delcos and found the uppers pretty easily. Part number seems to be:
19329420

but the lowers all seem to be out of stock. Was looking for part number:
19329419

then I found reference to a different part number:
19186956

they are in stock but the fitment is “unknown.” They’re also 5x the price of the uppers.

can anyone confirm that, for these lower joints, the old number is not going to be made again and confirm that this new number is the correct one?

Depending on model year, Rockauto.com has lowers and they have lowers from several different manufacturers.

I checked and they have the ac delco lowers listed but unavail. That seems to be the story everywhere.

and the other part numbers I listed seem to be for c5’s.

it’s looking like I might end up having to go with moog or something similar

I suspect that is because its not serviceable per GM, they sell the entire lower control arm and claim there is no way to press out the ball joint without deforming the lower control arm. That being said, I pressed mine out and used ULTRA-POWERK6537from rock auto x 4 and GM GENUINE 19329420 (Daily Driver) Rear Upper. From what I could tell the Ultra power and moog are the same, and they have grease zerks. If and when they wear out I will replace entire control arm, but they handle just fine and seem ok 2 years later.

At the time, a set of 4 control arms was $700 and a set of 4 lower BJ was $50 total at 11.74 each. Now it looks like your only current choice is the $55 moog k6537 making the decision $220 vs $680. For me $50 vs $650 was a no brainer, but if you dont have access to a press then its possibly a closer tossup to you at $220 plus labor to press in/out ball joint vs $680 for GM control arms.

EDIT: I just saw the $13 ultra power k6537 is available. My suggestion would be to order 4 of those, and one moog from
amazon amazon
and compare before making decision

Call AMT Motorsports. They offer monoball control arms but they also have an option of replacing the ball joints.

Mark may be able to sell you them or point you to his supplier. You should ask him about the installation techniques.

A full set of 8 eight control arms are now $1,250 plus.

The rear lower control arms are now $189 each for the rears including the ball joints. The front lower control arms are less expensive.

The prices I quoted are actual. Some sites including GM Parts Online stores add a $50 core charge for the lower control arms to the cost I quoted.

I know this because I was quoted the prices today.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I talked with Mark and he just has a few left that he uses on his customers’ cars. He is waiting to get new ones too.

i suppose getting new arms would be an option but since I’m running different bushings, it doesn’t really help me unfortunately.

luckily mine are still good - I just want to do them preventatively.

I am in a similar situation. Although I want to swap the spherical bearings (monoballs) control arms to stock control arms on all eight controls arms.

Not sure what you want to accomplish because most ball joints have a very long life.

I’m sure they do and mine have had that very long life. They are what connects Hoosier A7’s to the rest of my 90k-mile-old car at 140+ mph in the left-hand sweeper at ACS.

so I’d like to accomplish having brand new factory parts in critical areas.

still searching for new ones but a lot of the descriptions of 19329419 have changed from “out of stock” to “discontinued.”

Wow… I think I found some. They said they were listed as discontinued but they had a few showing as in stock. And they are $15 each!
