Choice selection on your transmission, sounds like a perfect street car build.

Getting ready to make the cross country trip!!

Tony is building the shipping box around it. Slated to arrive the second week of January right on time to go right in the car.

Often thought to be too tall for a lot of applications, for an engine that makes good power over a broad RPM range in a road course environment it's perfect. Being able to leave it in third for just a little while longer while accelerating harder than it would in 4th gear is a big advantage at so many tracks.

Slow corners are 50 mph corners and for those 2nd gear will be used. (The carousel at Summit Point main track comes to mind)

When you start talking about higher speed corners 80 mph plus at 4500 rpm in 3rd gear you're coming up on the engines sweet spot and run the thing all the way out to 7300 rpm which is 140.65 mph with a 26.8" tall Hoosier 345/35/18.

I literally have analyzed every corner of every track I go to with speed in gear and this was the way to go. I have experience with the 3.55's in my ACR-E with similar gearbox ratios (1.19 3rd, 1.0 4th, .77 5th) and only a 6400 RPM red line. I am in 5th sooner than I want to be regularly and the car falls on its face.

This Mamo Motorsports engine mated to these ratios is going to be sweet. I should see higher speeds than I ever have before at every track I go to this season.

1st 2.29
2nd 1.61
3rd 1.21
4th 1.0
5th .818
6th .675

3.42 final drive

If you choose to work with Tony you won't be disappointed. His attention to detail is extremely impressive. Your engine will be done correctly and it will make great power.
I’ve got no doubt about that

Used to build road race engines in the AMA and am very impressed with what you’ve got going for a torque curve. I’m planning to do a similar setup with my LS2 404, but will have to rev it a bit more than yours to make the power.

I’m going to have to research the trans ratios a bit more...it sounds like you’ve got a pretty sweet box right there though. Nice to not have to shift as much.
Know all too well about that 5th gear falling on it’s face thing, the 5th gear in these things are terrible.

Hope you had a great holidays man, really looking forward to you getting that baby out on the track!

This is nasty, I look forward to numbers through a chassis dyno and tuned in your car. Maybe 650 rwhp?

Not sure? Using 15% driveline and accessories loss puts it in the 590's. I told Tony if it made mid to upper 500's on a Dynojet that would be more than enough and I am guessing it's there.

Main thing I stressed was reliability and could run on pump gas so we didn't get jammed up running out of fuel at the track. After that I requested the fairly early delivery of power which would still carry a little up top.

With the last build I was being outrun at higher speeds. It made torque down really low, almost too low, and was totally out of steam by 6300-6500 rpm. Hopefully this is a better blend when mated to these gear ratios making it less likely to get pulled by much up top.

Didn't cam it deep enough for that type of number (purposely)....this engine was about a fat flat torque curve which is much more useful in this type of application than 25 more HP up top. This engine should be around 600 RWHP or so with a solid torque number. Honestly depending on the dyno it might be 590-620 at the wheels....the dyno itself is always the biggest variable here (assuming the tune is reasonably competent).

Cheers
Tony

Ok awesome, the torque will help more on a road course which is the goal. This should be interesting to see!

Getting closer and am really starting to imagine what it's going to be like this season!!

Just now pulled the trigger and ordered a new Halltech MF108 and the LG Motorsports Differential & Transmission Cooler.

I don't think I am forgetting anything??

I'm thinking you have it all covered Steve. What oil cooler are you using? Also, I would be interested to hear how the LG Diff and Trans cooling kit works out for you. I have considered it also. Halltech MF108 is a great CAI. I use it. What TB?

By the way, what oil do you plan to run in the car?

NW102 TB

Once we get the engine back we are going to decide on the oil cooler(s) placement and line routing for the DS. Probably use a Setrab 625 but am all ears for the best placement and solution possible.

I typically run 10-30 Amsoil Racing synthetic oil and change it out every event.

I am about to install the Improved Racing cooler. It is a Setrab Series 1 w/ 65 rows. Mounts right where the OEM is. I Got the 212 degree thermostat as well.

I am switching to Amsoil this year. Already stocked up on 10w40 and 10-30 racing.

EC 602 and EC6-611 I am assuming?

What's the difference between those and the 601 and 610?

That looks like a great call!

No.

I ordered this exact kit: http://www.improvedracing.com/oil-co...601-p-835.html

It comes with EVERYTHING that you need. Do not buy anything else.

I also got the windage tray/crank scraper. Didn't need ARP studs as I bought them separate.

Great! Thanks for the clarification. That does it then. I think that's it.

Once the engine is in we are going to work on the front splitter extension. It has a short splitter and undertray on it now. I may even vent the fenders like the ACR to complement the World Challenge hood.

Just so everyone know's how it all started with this car Motorsports Attorney Jaime Recabo is all to blame for this transformation!! All I wanted was a simple, black WC hood and call it good.

That's Jaime on the right watching the C6R Driver's autograph the hood. I literally had no idea what I was buying until I got to his house and saw it for the first time. I thought I was going to pick up a plain yellow WC hood that I would have sprayed black. Now here we are.

Make sure you get the 212 degree thermostat. There is an option to change it from the link. Let me know what you end up doing with the front splitter extension. I'm using a ZR1 splitter right now, and once I ruin this one (shouldn't take long) I am going for something much bigger.

For the fender vents take a look at these: http://trackspecmotorsports.com/shop...e-fender-vents

I am probably going to order a set and cut my fenders for them. I am still waiting on the canards/winglets by the way. Hoping to know how the molds came out in a few weeks and how it will be reinforced.

Jaime was a good man. RIP

Yes he was

For the fenders I will probably just emulate the ACR and leave the holes open. I have heard that air flows more freely from the wheel wells without the vent slats.

I want those dive planes when we hear more clearly how they are fastened.

212 Thermostat it is. Thanks!

Tony builds one mean shipping crate. Absolutely flush in each dimension. I'm confident you will dyno on the far end of the predictions so far. It's going to just explode out of the corners with the cam you have and the Mamo MSD up top.

That's the hope for sure. It's coming together fast now but looking over the car there is more to do.

I don't NEED all the stuff I have in my mind that needs to be addressed luckily as it worked pretty well even before the Mamofication of the car.

I should have some dynojet numbers by the beginning of March and lap times by the end of March with good back to back lap time comparisons between this and the ACR-E. My money is on the C6Z.
