I wouldn't get hung up on dyno numbers, all dynos are going to read different.

Hope you get the issue fixed, really sucks that you've been without the car this long.

I don't have much to offer but wanted to see what your verdict was in the end.

We had our heads done at AHP (package 4 plus porting) over a year ago and then my husband added American racing headers, (already had the Borla on it), Vararam, and Kohle's recommended 116 cam....of course changed push rods and have Tooley springs. We had overhead noise and took it to a great tuner in Norman, OK who suggested swapping trunnions from the needle bearings to the bronze bushings, so we will do that next week. Our only regret is that we didn't get the Moldstar valve guides last year with the AHP heads. Our car drives fantastic with no surge at all due to the great tune that's in it. It ran lean after the cam swap and had more noise than we were happy with, but the tune fixed that. We are hoping the remaining noise will disappear after the trunnion swap. I had the car dyno tuned with only the Borlas on it over a year ago, and it made around 480 and a little less torque. I'm unsure what it would dyno now because we got the street tune and didn't put it on the dyno. Hope to hear good news on your follow up.

Are you referring to the typical LS engine sewing machine sound? You should put down well over 500 rwhp with that cam, ported heads, and CAI, LT's, and Borla exhaust.

I have been really impressed with the setup that I ended up going with; in particular, I believe the combination of the Johnson 2110 SLR lifters on LS friendly lobes on a similar 116 custom 8620 cam from TSP, and the CHE manganese bronze trunnion kit, all but eliminated the typical LS sewing machine noise in my valvetrain.

It takes 4 hours to pull heads and cam , 6 tops and I worked on my own z in my garage with no lift , that's pulling the rack out to access the timing cover and everything , I'm sure shops have it mastered to a shorter time than that

I called them ( Tick ) to see about doing a head and cam for me and they would not give me a quot or even return my calls. After reading all your troubles with them I'm glad they didn't return my calls. Sorry for your troubles hope you get it fixed SOON.

Well I'm not here to bash Tick or anybody for that matter, I know they're super busy and I'm just trying to be patient, I don't really have any other options at this point and I don't want make any enemies and make things worse. Maybe it takes 4 months to pull the heads and cam and see if you can figure out why it's knocking, I don't know.....I'm just anxious to get it back and would have never imagined taking it in to have the exhaust adjusted and tuned would have turned into this but it's just bad luck all the way around. I'll keep everyone posted when I know something.

You know my car is my baby, and if I left my baby at a shop for this long without attention I'd be one pissed-off Daddy! Get your car out of there and bring it somewhere where they going to treat it with respect!
