Default C6 z06 cam selection

Hey guys need some help on deciding which cam to choose between the two BTR Stage 4 or GT21 cam. I do not care about drivability I don’t have to drive it every day just want the best cam out of these two power wise.

If those are the only two choices...BTR4. Intended use of the car? More importantly...planned supporting mods?

I wouldn't recommend the Lingenfelter cam as the lobes are very hard on the valvetrain and you don't need lifts that high to get power out of the LS7. (243/259 duration @ .050 lift -.691/.702 lift with 1.8 rocker 112 CL)

If you're in that market, suggest you consider:

TSP Stage 3.2 (240/252, .657"/.655", 111 LSA, 108 ICL)
TSP Stage 4.2 (248/260, .657"/.655", 111 LSA, 108 ICL)
Cam Motion Titan King LS7 Camshaft (242/258, .648"/.639", 113+3)

Maybe the Katech K501 cam (235 / 251 @ .050, . 657/ .660 lift, 113 LSA)

It depends on if you want the camshaft that accelerates the best or makes the biggest dyno number. This isn't always the same thing, especially in a stick shift street car. With a sometimes 2000+ RPM drop on the shift a nice strong broad torque curve will often accelerate better. A perfect example is a customer who recently went from a larger camshaft down to our Titan 3 LS7 camshaft and the car was 4 tenth quicker in the 1/4.

Here is a link to our Titan 3 LS7:
http://www.cammotion.com/camshafts/l...236-252-113-3/

If you feel like you can benefit from a more aggressive camshaft than that, have a look at our Titan King:

Your Alpha cam is totally drivable with NicD tuning, and he doesn't care about drivability

Me, I want something you can hear thumping at 1500 rpm and people think it is wound up at 3000 rpms until you stomp the go pedal to the floor and the tach hits 7 grand and you are sideways. lol I want a cam for the LS7 that sounds like the old small block.

why not have a cam that has won multiple half mile events, holds the title for fastest c6z in az, and drives actually nice

Thanks for all the input guys. I really wanted a cam that can get me over the 600hp goal range low ten high nines 1/4mile with supporting mods and a nasty lope. I will be driving the car a lot but do not have to so drivability isn’t that big of a deal but I do want something that sounds NASTY

If a "MAX EFFORT" Camshaft is what you are after I highly recommend taking a look at our "SUMBICH" camshaft. We have this camshaft on sale right now for $349.99 and offer our Sumbich camshaft in our Cam Kit plus and Budget cam kits. Feel free to contact Robert or I and we will get you a great deal. We also have Free Shipping on orders $500 or more in the US right now. Email us at Sales@VengeanceRacing.net or call us at 678-513-7105. We would love to earn your business and help you with your performance goals.

Btr4 here. Made over 600 on a mustang( low reading). Went 9.91 last season N/A, and has a good lope to it.

I went for max effort n/a to hit 9’s. Of course its not only the cam but good supporting mods to make a nice combo. Drive ability suffers a lil bit but nothing you can’t get used to. My car is a weekend warrior so it doesn’t bother me.
I would keep the btr4. Its been proven more than once.
Good luck

No worries there. KAOTIK is a great camshaft for the Z06. Glad to hear you are enjoying it. Let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
