I think Howie and I are referring to people who just got new GM replacement motors, that popped again. Not "fixed" ones.

That being said, there is always a chance.

Fix the heads for peace of mind but to say this is ridiculous. The odds are overwhelming in his favor that engine failure will NOT occur. I drove mine (48K miles) and never checked them once and nothing happened.
Again, what is peace of mind worth to the OP? But don't tell him false statements.

Then you have no idea what you’re missing. My prior Vette was a 1999, that was supercharged, headers and some other goodies. It was easily quicker than my stock Z, but there is something about the C6 Z, that is hard to explain. Once you have one, you will begin to understand. Could I afford to buy a new C7 ZO6, yes I can, but would not want to spend that much on a car. Yes, they are quite a car, but still like my Z more.

IMHO,

Clayton.

i sided with the crowd... cheap insurance pay ~2k and not have to worry about replacing the motor
they did my heads/headers/tune in 3 day turn time over christmas even

UMMM CHASSED owns a C6ZR1 so yeah... you could say he has an idea... He and I both came from heavily modified C5Z's... You are not telling him anything that he doesn't already know...

Been there a few times! Very relaxing! I spent my time on the beach, drinking beer and spending great time with my wife. Must say, I’m a little jealous!

Will be in Fort Worth soon enough. Maybe a meet up?

Anyways, booked a week in Costa Rica, a week in Hawaii, and 2 more weeks in Costa Rica for later this year.

Find it crazy that the suby for GM to make these heads made them with defects and sent them out. No quality control in place because if it were they would have picked this up.

They got paid by GM and the losers in all of this is the general public footing the bill for an incompetant workshop.

Crazy how the world works. Everyone with a LS7 should get free heads that are problem free and to specifications. Regardless of age or out of warranty. This is just a big stuff up that should have severe consequences yet nothing. Not even a slap on the wrist. Complete joke.

my thoughts exactly but as we get closer to what’ll be the 2nd gen Vette after what came with these engines I think it’s safe to say someone got away with murder.
Also find it interesting that my big bad 427 seems to be more fragile than a run of the mill 5.3 that have already been boosted to redicoulous numbers without worry.
