Froggy's c5z vs. c6z side by side comparison
Wasn't sure where to stick this so I thought I'd share with my new buddies on the c6z06/c6zr1 sub forum. I'll be hanging here mostly if it's not competition subjects & back on autox/track for competition.
Here ya go, comments/questions entertained.

i'm curious what you think of the general rowdyness on the street as well as autocross. the c5z was such a fun street car because you could actually hop on it within reason and rail corners, quickly bang through roundabouts etc without getting into felony land if a cop were to see you. it was also a better than average autocrosser.
the c6z is on my radar simply because of the current pricing. 30-35k gets you a decent one +2k for heads. that's quite a lot less than a GTR which is the car i actually want but don't think i can swing this year. i loved my last c5z but haven't driven a c6z yet. just rides. c6z is a lot more torquey but the driver i was with didn't really push the car
i remember you have been autocrossing and around corvettes a very long time

Right now compared to my very upgraded (suspension) on the c5z it's like a smooth operator, not soft but nvh are def. much less. I did that to the c5z knowingly, so it's apples/oranges so far as street driving it.
The inside is just SO nice the leather, seats, radio on the c6z. I have to credit gm for the combo plate of performance and driveability they did.
I looked at Viper and Shelby & really glad I did the c6z.
I expect it will be as "rowdy" as you want, no problem-mo.

Hi, thanks for posting. I really haven't had time yet to street drive (or any) the c6z. It's a bit bigger/wider/longer (or seems so). Haven't had it past 4k rpm as the tires are shi** that it came on so I'll be buying some b4 I get on it. Ask me how I learned that, haha.

but the rest of the car i didn't feel was any improvement over the c5z in performance and if anything the weight and higher COG would work against it in autocross type situations. interior was much more modern but i'm not really a feature buyer.
i tried the michelin pss in 295 30 19 and 265 35 18 on my c5z and loved them. very fast rain tire, wore excellent and handled stock power levels excellent. part that amazed me is traction was good to about 60-65deg and not scary until 35 or so. you didn't have to have them over 100deg to hook up like some others.
curious to hear your thoughts once you get the car dialed. have you considered what to do with the heads yet?

Believe me, last thing I want is the car hung up all summer. When I bought my C5Z, I was rear ended in spring one month after registering it and it was in the shop until late summer. I know the pain....

i don't for the life of me understand ford's decision here as the gt350 is probably my favorite modern mustang.

well that's the crazy part. on the gt350 the "upgraded" interior has these basic leather seats. from what i remember the good recaro ones are not offered on with the upper package.

So top are the ones I saw in 2017 gt350's I thought about, lower are exactly like mine.
The little luggage strap and the t-shirt tag on the gt350, I dunno? Just look cheap. IMO.

Seats just reminded me that you have a 2013. You know the 12/13 cars came with 2 extra catalytic converts ("aft cats"), making your car a 4-cat system? 06-11 came with 2-cats, and GM added the 2 aft cats to the front end of the mid pipe. Corsa makes a bolt-in replacement X-pipe that is unique to the 12/13 C6Z (& C6ZR1) to make your car a 2-cat setup like previous years. FYI...the 2 forward cats on 12/13 cars have slightly longer collectors than previous years, thus making your mid-pipe slightly shorter than previous years. So the correct Corsa mid-pipe must be used for the 12/13 only cars. Get rid of those 2 extra cats!

Cool.
I miss my C5Z. If you havent seen the hot vs crazy scale video redone for cars (fun vs money) its worth the watch. For me the C5Z was smack in that golden zone of most fun for the $$$. I railed that car everywhere. It was never scary.
With the ZR1 I have now you better mean it when you get on it. All the limits are so high its mind bending and you definitely feel the wider track. Parking its a bitch as well. Love it but Im pretty sure it wants me dead.
As above I would ditch the mid cats before your carpet shrinks in the tunnel area.
Does anyone have an actual list of differences between the C5 vs C6 platform ? I always viewed the C6 as a C5.5
