Default Guesses as to what it makes!

It’s finally about time to take my car in to convert to e85! I have had a fuel sending unit issue since I bought the car so while I am replacing the sending units I figured it would be a good time to take advantage of some e85! Curious as to what you guys think I will pick up?

Currently the car makes 555/508 on one dyno and 579/528 on another, the car was tuned on the lower number dyno and will be going back to that same dyno. Those numbers were made on 93 octane.

BTR Stage 3
Heads milled .030
Melrose 1 7/8” with Hi Flow Cats
B&B PRT
Halltech MF 103
NW 102
Mamo MSD
Walbro 450
FIC 850’s
DSX Flex Fuel Kit

When the car was tuned, he said that he did see some knock with 93 so hopefully this turns out to be beneficial!

I’m going to guess u pick up 20rwhp and 20rwtq but u were on 93 and looks to be a conservative dyno. So 10/10 but I believe it will make a good difference in the mid range from what I’ve seen

Depends on how conservative the 93 octane tune was. If they saw knock and pulled some timing you'll pick up more. I'm going to guess on the low end: 10whp/15wtq

I’m guessing on the low end as well, then if it picks up more I’ll be pleasantly surprised! He said that he did pull some timing when he saw the knock just to keep it safe.

Can’t argue that But e85 is half the price of 93 here so it won’t be bad.

I get better mileage on E85 because of the cost. Just have to fill up twice on E85 per 1 tank of 93. If you look at it that way, of course.

Yeah it should end up being close to a wash between the two fuels. Not like most of us really picked these cars for their gas mileage

Awesome enough to go back to stock? I didn't think so, me either.

Hey Jared, looks like your car is coming along nicely! I’m not surprised on the dyno differences, my two baseline dynos were off about the same amount when Mike moved to his new shop. Interested to see your net gains, your plan makes sense.

Thanks! Yeah he said that's been the case with about everything since he moved to the new place. I'm going to have him do a new baseline because I have different wheels now, so that way it will eliminate as many variables as possible and be a true back to back.

I'm running a flex fuel setup on my HCI and did not gain a single horse on peak numbers, gained about 10hp and 20tq through the midrange though. Only difference was my heads were not milled and the sensor was reading only 70% ethanol. Not sure how much difference that makes

Not having the heads milled is probably why you didnt see a huge change. E85 really needs some compression to shine. That's pretty good gains in the mid range though, that's more useful than peak anyway!
