Default Almost thought my C6Z was a goner...

Crazy storm hit East Oahu late Friday evening, flash floods, mud and debris blocking roads, etc. Literally no warning before the sky opened up. Our property was flooded, and mud/water came into the garage...highest water mark I saw was about 3 inches back towards the door. Thankfully the slab in the garage slopes away from the house...both of our cars in there were alright, and it could've been much worse. My first reaction was that we had two flood damaged cars. Would've hated to lose my C6Z this way.

Many of our neighbors were not so lucky and lost everything; so I definitely feel fortunate that I just have a mess to clean up. Spent the whole weekend trying to clean up. Heard something like 200 homes were flooded.

Man it was a shocker to find that mess in our garage on Saturday morning. Been through many storms since I moved here, but nothing like this one...Island life is unpredictable.

What I found on Sat morning...

Damn, glad everything is ok.
Felt the same way when we had the Fires in January, terrible feeling.

That totally sucks and I am glad that you are not having to deal with a flooded Z. I saw that Kauai got hit really bad as well.

We are headed to Kaanapali for two weeks and can't wait to get there. I hope that the Hawaiian rain gods have decided that enough is enough.

Thanks bud. It was definitely a few tense moments until I assessed the situation. I was put somewhat at ease when I saw the water mark on the bottom of the wheel.

It's been a rainy few months. Love Kaanapali. Kauai got something like 28 inches in a 24 hr period this past weekend. I hope this all ends soon. We're headed to Kauai for our anniversary in June.

Thanks Anthony, much appreciated. It was a surreal moment, but like I said...it could be much worse right now.

Wow Mike, you guys dodged a bullet! I saw mention of the 24 hour rain total on Kauai and I thought it was a misprint. Just nuts! Glad you guys and the Z06 are all OK. Hopefully all that stuff is done now.

I didn't realize you are on Oahu! My wife's family are from North shore, Kahuku to be exact. We were on Maui last October for our 20th. Glad you made out alright. Regards, Rick.

Glad to hear everything turned out okay. I remember freaking out when Irma was coming through Florida. I recently bought my C6Z (luckily I sold my previous C6 a day before the storm) and was trying to determine the safest place for it to avoid flooding. Luckily we didn't end up getting hit as bad as we thought on the west coast of Florida .

Thanks guys! I hope this crazy rain is behind us now...we've had entirely too much the last few months. I'm actually flying back to SoCal tomorrow for a week to see family, so I'm glad I got most of the mess cleaned up at this point. The rest is just going to have to wait until we get back. Hopefully we don't come home to anything else.

Glad your ok and your Vette unscathed

Funny I never heard anything about this until at dinner tonight my wife told me about how bad it was on Kawaihi (sp). We were there last year with the family. I hope all those little chicken that run all over the place found some high ground
