What the H#$$ are those dots on the windshield & back window?
Tried to attach a dash cam on the front windshield just right of the rear view mirror & high. It was a decent single suction cup, but it became obvious that those dumb dots are preventing a seal from forming.
So what the heck are they? I had some smaller ones on back of the c5z window & never seemed to cause a problem when I stuck a camera back there.

In the tradition of answering my own questions, I called the tech support for the dash cam I am trying to get to stick, he said the dots are for HEAT DISSIPATION.
That so? Had not known of that.

the tint on my rear hatch looks like it is peeling thanks to the dots.

10+ years in the AZ sun and no signs of deterioration yet. I'm guessing it's more about the guy who installs it, than the product itself.
The hatch defroster wires present a bigger vision problem than the dots. I get more concerned with function than appearance.
