Default Trunnion upgrade ? Non 2007?

I have an 06Z and I researched the 07’s were the unfortunate rocker arm failures. Therefor, I was curious if other year rockers were failing in types of conditions when the camshaft was upgraded, excluding incidents beyond insane lift ie: over 660 lift. Basically asking if you can run a stage 2~3 moderate cam without upgrading to trunnion rockers if it’s not an 07?
Any excessive failures in other years besides 07.

Im going down the list fellas and replacing all the weak points that could damage the engine. The cylinder heads are being addressed.

So far I have this list. Stay away from comp cam trunnions, too many failures. BTR trunnions mostly out of stock. Not much data on others except CHE which is the brand of choice. Although, is it stressed enough to upgrade? Are the reported failures in rocker arm trunnions comparable to the valve guide issues? Mine is not tracked and mostly stock but does see occasional 6800rpms after these heads get fixed.

I used CHE when I fixed my heads. They are easy to do yourself and worth the money and peace of mind.

Just take your time and make sure the C-clips are fully seated in the groove.

If you're not running a really big cam, it's not necessary. As Jaybird said you can do it for peace of mind. I'm running a "stage 2" cam and didn't touch the trunions. Kohle at AHP said not to bother with upgrading them.

Katech uses/recommends OEM rockers. I got mine for my ‘07 for $225 from GMpartsdirect a few months back...

we are running a 116 cam from Kohle and was told to upgrade the trunnions to reduce overhead noise and the solid bushings have much better load capacity. the stock d-shape trunnions tend to make more noise from the higher lift cam due to the limited space of the shape of the d-shape trunnions !!!!! we have not installed them yet, was told this by our tuner who has much experience with LS engines on the drag strip.

Stock rockers. Forum hype. Unless I wouldn't take a chance on a 2007 Z only.

Peace of mind upgrade. I'm running stock rockers with a .660 lift camshaft.

Stock are fine. Stock are more reliable and more proven than any of the aftermarket "upgrades".

Yep, stock rockers are totally fine. I have a HUGE camshaft and regularly spin the motor to 7800RPM at the dragstrip - never had one fail on me.
