Default Adding Kooks headers and Halltech MF103 to Corsa catback

Hello Everyone.

I have an 08 Z06 with the ahp heads and a corsa exhaust that is my daily driver. I had the car baselined and it produced 414 rwtq and 448 rwhp on a dynojet at 66F, 29.4 in-Hg and 50% RH. I have a halltech mf103 cai and 1-7/8" kooks headers with catted x-pipe on order. What kind of numbers can i expect from the above setup with a proper tune? i'll think about a baby cam if the above still isn't enough.

thanks!
e

LT's by themselves don't add much on a stock cam car. LT's, MF103 and a dyno tune...I'd say there's ~35 hp there with 20 of that being the tune (provided your car is stock tune). Throw in a "baby" cam and you should easily get over the 500 rwhp mark with those mods.

Honestly, just do a cam. I netted no peak HP/TQ gains when I put 2" headers on my BTR 2 cam car, with stock TB/intake mani...cold air intake only on that end. The stock exhaust manifolds flow well.

I dont necessarily agree here fully. The stock manifolds do flow very well but after some testing I have come to realize the stock intake is the real limiting factor. Throw on a ported msd even with the stock cam and headers will pick up nicely

Agreed...move more air in (intake, cam ported heads) for the LT's to move air out. On his car, the LT's wont do much in and of themselves without the necessary supporting mods.

I'm inclined to agree with you as well...on a basically stock setup with not much more than a baby cam, CAI and a tune...the LT's are a bit overkill. More of a nice to have than a must have. I'd rather avoid the extra cabin heat, closer heat source to starter, solenoid, wires, etc., if I'm not going full H/C/I build.

All great points. The other reason for the headers is the noise they make. I love the sound of my Corsa, just want more of it!

They'll certainly accomplish that. Just be aware that Corsa will drone with LT's.

Really? I have heard from others they don't. I have experienced drone on my 2001 with a muffler bypass and it was unbearable. Had to close them up after a week.

Corsa's don't drone with OE manifolds/cats, but the overwhelming consensus say they do with LT's. Now drone, and what levels are considered tolerable, is purely subjective...but it seems most are happy with the bi-mode OE mufflers once they install LT's in order to combat any drone. Plenty are happy with B&B Fusions along with LT's, but will admit that there is more drone than there was with OE mufflers.
