Default Best, or most helpful cam swap directions

I have looked through several pages an some are really vague or some require AC condenser removal, and anti-lock brake manifold removal. I still see some that drop the cradle or some that just remove the steering rack. I am not dropping the cradle an will be removing steering rack. I will be removing heads and changing lifters. What, if you please, is a good set of instructions.

There's a good write up on this forum...but I can't seem to find it.

Edit: Found it! I love me sometimes.

I just don't agree with removing the steering rack. Move it to the passenger side. No need to completely remove it. Other than that...it's a pretty informative thread.

I had to remove the a/c condenser on mine, a 2010 model, due to the factory changing the way it slip onto the radiator at it mounting points to it. Believe me I tried for two days to get it loose from the radiator while waiting on my heads to be done. I have a evac pump so it was not a problem just $10 more for Freon. I ended up cutting the condenser aluminum brackets so if I have to do a cam job again it would slip off. So depending on your year model you may or may not have to remove it.

Now on the rack I just moved it to the pass. side and out of the way and did not have to remove the antilock manifold but if I remember right I did have to take a line or two loose from it, just bleed the brakes after getting it all back together.

I left the condenser in the car.
I slid the rack to the passengers side.
I removed the bolts from the ABS block but left the lines intact.
I removed the PS pump and cooler from the car.

2011 Z07 car.

Did any of you buy the flywheel lock or just torque the damper with the car in gear?

I moved the rack the first time I did it. I dropped the cradle the second time I did it. Not sure how I'll tackle it this next time. I'll likely just move the rack since I've deleted my power steering.

Rear wheels on the ground, hand brake engaged, blocks on the wheels and let that torque wrench eat.

No reason for excessive tools. Put her in 6th gear and lock the e-brake. Easy kill.

Most certainly best directions I have read so far. Thanks. My heads wont be here until the first week of June. Not really looking forward to doing this but with my AHP ported heads, AHP 116 cam, and a Mamo ported MSD it should run really well.
