Default Replacement vs original heads

I have been contemplating replacing the LS7 heads with either a new set or sending my originals in. Are there serial numbers on the original heads that match the engine? Is their any value retained in using the originals vs a replacement set?

I haven’t heard anyone decline the purchase of the LS7 corvette because heads were not matching numbers. If anything, they pass up the sale because the heads have not been “fixed.” Further, for your mild investment of not dropping a valve and spending 15k... better to pay a little now than more later.

I have been wondering the same thing. Not so much from a value point, since I hope to keep my car a long time and it won't matter, but just from a having all the major parts of the car and engine staying together. Yea I know parts get changed, wear out etc and the car Is not totally as sold very long. Still it feels better to keep my original heads, just reworked.

To my knowledge, no...there is not a numbers matching scenario like collectible vettes from decades ago.

For me.... i had the time and elected to keep my heads rather than exchange them. My car had 14k miles at the time and i didntvwant exchange ones that had way more miles.... but im picky.

I'm picky too. That's why I'm thinking brand new heads shipped directly to AHP or reusing my originals. Pros or cons on either?

I chose to keep my heads too but if there aren’t any matching numbers who would be the wiser?

I wonder what markings are on them IE date code, batch number, etc.
