Default Dart LS Next Pro 427 F1X A2W - Build Thread

So, I figured I would go ahead and start a build thread as some big things are in the works for the car.

Currently the car has 11k miles on the clock, the motor is still a stock bottom end, stock head casting LS7 with the LPE660 package with a few other bits.

Here is what we are working with currently and I will provide what we have for the build.

Currently:
  • LPE660 LS7 11.5:1 H/C/I
  • GT-21 Cam
  • Katech Oil Pump

I know I am missing things but this should give you an idea. Building the car for TX2K roll racing events, some 1/8 and 1/4 mile passes but really wanting to hit 1/2 mile events as much as possible. I know the rear-end gearing has to go higher as is will blow the tires off on 3.90's, already does on 345/35/18 MT ET S/S.

Very nice. Love your choice of color on the the wrap. What HP do you think you will be at after the build?

Thank you! I just got her back last night from the wrap shop.

As far as HP I'd say 1300ish on the Mainline which is a heart breaker, at least with the F1X it should be in range. The goal eventually will be to go to a bigger blower or turbo the car, the motor has a bit of headroom before we have to go a bit bigger. Chasing that MPH number in the 1/2 LOL...

It'll take a bit of seat time to get to a point where we have it all dialed in and get it from A to B. On the street it will be a nightmare but not it's primary use.

Good luck on the build. Sounds like she should be a tire burner.

Let's work something out for those 3.90s :]

Hey brother, thank you! We absolutely need to sync up before everything gets put together, I have two sets of drag radials to use up before I go 15". Let me know when you want to run them, it will be fun. I have a feeling I am going to get skull dragged but it will be fun nonetheless.

On the gears, are you wanting to swap diffs? I was thinking you had the same level III that I had with 3.4X gears? I need to get some input on how high to gear this thing for the 1/2 at the power level it will be at on a radial. At least the power will be linear on the Procharger...

I will let know know for sure. I sent my heads off to get reworked. Whenever they get back I'll be ready.

Think I saw your car at The League Saturday night; said to my wife "that Vette has a cam in it." Haha. Highly recommend you get a CamMotion cam with it's better lobes, those GT-21's will wreak havoc on your valvetrain. Get good guides and choose your valves wisely. Johnson lifters are excellent. I really like the way your car looked before the wrap.

Hahaha, yeah that was my wife and myself Saturday. That cam is full retard... That whole setup is going away with the new motor, we are going to get Pat G to spec cam for the motor and compare that spec to what we have in some other grinds. The GT-21 is a super aggressive for no additional gains in my opinion, yeah it chops but that is not what is important to me and I do constantly worry about the stress it puts on the valve train despite LPE saying they have no failures with that bump stick. The blower cam will be much tighter.

GT-21: 243/259 duration @ .050 lift -.691/.702 lift with 1.8 rocker 112 CL 🤔

Thanks

Yup, Yup. Just saw this...

The Corbeau's are quite comfortable, look good and hold me in pretty well. They are a fixed back seat for the C6 due to width constraints and have an air lumbar support, in my opinion they are one of the best bets for the price if you are looking for an aftermarket racing seat and or weight savings. 👍🏼

Have any pics of the DMS catch can installed? Thinking about going with one. Would like to see how they do their dry sump lines.
