Default Need help/service Active Handling and ABS

2010 ZR1 10,000

Was driving down free way and the car felt like it did a buck and I got the service active handling and service ABS. Checked for codes and none are there, only the service messages that are still on display. Had the battery checked and was good.

The service messages are still on and I really don't have ABS or active handling.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I did, but it looks they there would be a code thrown if it was wheel speed sensor?

Thanks

Your post says that you "don't have ABS or active handling" But yes you do. Not too sure what you mean by that?

These cars will throw warnings all the time that really mean nothing. That's the reason you have no codes. I suggest you hit the reset button and see if these come back. Really, 95% of the time they don't.

Good luck!

A lot of times these messages are voltage related...No codes does seem odd. If the battery really is healthy, maybe the alternator is the culprit.

Sorry, I didn't get my point across well.

The warnings are still there, and I check to see if I had ABS and active handling and I don't.

Thanks

Checking the alternator will be my next step.

Have you tried resetting the cars PCM by disconnecting the neg battery cable for a few minutes?

These cars have so many sensors that are run to other sensors before they make it to the computer it's unreal. You have to have a scanner(high dollar) that will read what is going on with the steering, wheel, and ride height(to name a few) sensors.

I had the exact same problem I had....

start with a new battery, save yourself some headache....

optima yellow top d34-78... drop in replacement

my volts were fine when running, but it would just wig out for 5 sec them back to normal...

battery even said good too! I dropped the old optima in my 64 mustang and it starts it fine!

if you still have the problem the fix is going to be a lot more expensive!

You said the car "bucked" is it running rough? If so, it's a spark plug wire.

Sorry, long day, if you don't have abs, i would say bcm or ebcm. Mine was the ebcm. If you have abs, like others have said, battery, wheels sensor, blue plug under passenger foot board, bcm, ebcm

It’s running perfect, besides not having ABS, traction control, active handling.

No codes might be because you're using a scan tester which does not support the chassis computer.

What kind of scanner were you using?

Just a regular OBD reader.

Check for damaged ride height sensors. One of mine randomly got ripped off the rear control arm.

As Hib has said, a regular ODB scanner will most likely not read or display the codes. You'll need a tech2 clone or a really high end scanner with access to the suspension and EBCM modules. The tech2 clone would probably be cheaper than the high end odb scanner.
