i won’t lie I tried to go the cheapest way I could. (I know I know cheapest isn’t always best) but normal kooks/arh are the same price as what I have in EVERYTHING (besides head work). I may upgrade later but I,like many, am on a super thin budget. Care to share your nitrous setup with me? Window switch? Timing box? Brand of plate kit?

Thanks

I was the same way. Skimped on things in the beginning because I didn't have the cash. Now I have to redo a lot of it but that's just the name of the game. I bought the TSP headers for ~$800. I picked up a used set of ARH headers for $1000. The deals are out there. I went through 3 sets of o2 sensors with the TSP headers and ultimately ended up rubbing a hole in one of the primaries from scrapping on the tollway.

I run a dry setup. ID1000 injectors, walbro 450 and e85. I use a IAT tricker to pull timing and add fuel in the tune and a NOS dual stage wot controller to power it all. I spray a 150 shot. On the old setup it was good for ~200wtq and 180whp. May go to a dual dry shot with 100/100 stages and use the second stage on top only when really needed. Even with the 150 right now, not very many cars out there that warrant it.

Your first Corvette.. Z06? That is quite a lot of cam duration. It is kinda an oddball combo you have there. Nice looking Z though. Congrats. You could of found a ton of great threads here before you decided on your stuff.... but with a great tune you should love it. NOS down the road. I knew right away you were in you 20's or came from a NOS car b4. Good luck. These cars are super beastly once modded and can be a handful at certain times. Be careful.

No 550 rwhp is not gonna be attainable with what you have. Area under the curve will make more hp and be overall faster from A to B . Don't be concerned with a number.

the number isn’t really all I’m concerned with. I was just curious. I’ve done quite a bit of research on here actually. The budget I have just wouldn’t allow me to go exactly how I wanted right off the bat. Getting the heads fixed has really been weighing on me and this is my DD so I can’t have a lot of downtime. I’m on vacation starting today and the car is going in here in a few hours. If it sounds like an animal I’ll ultimately be happy with whatever it makes

I can't say for sure but I wasn't the only one having issues. It was a heater circuit code. My best guess is the placement was too far downstream causing an overload to get the sensors up to temp.

I don’t have a pic of the dyno sheet but I have initial numbers! 428hp and 406 torque. The dyno is a dynojet and I’m unsure which scale he used. Seems very low. 550 is out of the question for sure I think now. 530 may be on the optimistic side. Thoughts?

Do you have a copy of the dyno sheet? Was it STD or SAE? Either way, those numbers are pretty low for a dynojet...

Top right of your picture cut out some of the info...but I can see "STD", and STD typically reads ~4-5% higher that SAE.

Your number is about 20hp low (or ~4-6% lower) of an average bone stock Z06....but a baseline number is all that matters to see your true gains. Get you mods & tuning done on the same dyno, and see how much HP/TQ you gain over that 428/406

Welcome! Car looks great! Numbers do seem a little low. Did they do multiple runs or just the one? I just had my 07 baselined before I start modding and MTPZ06 is correct, you are down 20+ on HP and TQ. But, also as stated, it only matters what you gain, not the end all number.

It was one single pull and the temp was in the high 80s I believe he said. I didn’t want multiple tries since I hadn’t had the heads fixed yet. Maybe the end result will be fairly decent. He pulled the heads today to be worked over. I will keep posted!

So little update. The car is apart and I have decided to send the heads off for work instead of just doing it local. The cam I chose is frankenstein so I figured their heads would be a good match! A little more downtime but I think Cnc porting and valve job with a light milling will get me a little closer to my goals.

Please do some searching on here before doing that...

I agree that the dyno seems low. Stock C6Zs will be in the 440-450rwhp in stock form. For reference, my car is making 536rwhp with the stock cam, but all other bolt-on mods. With a mild cam you should be at 550rwhp+- with solid supporting mods. It could be the dyno, or you car is low on power compared to average. Only way to know which one it is would be dyno it somewhere else.

Sorry, need to correct an error in my prior post. My car is at 526rwhp, not 536rwhp.

I’m anxious to see how much it picks up. I think that will tell me enough hopefully
