No way to listen to Ipod in 08 Z06
The 08 Z06 has no way to play Ipod/Iphone through sound system. I purchased a PAL2 and it works fine for my Ipod, but it keeps draining my battery so I took it out. I have the navigation/radio in the car. I am wondering if I can have the nav removed and purchase a different radio with modern upgrades that fits exactly where my navigation screen now exist? Any suggestions welcome and really needed. Thanks!

Please message me if you find a decent solution.
I'm in the same boat with an 08-Z with Nav.
It really beggars description that the dingleberries at GM neglected an aux port.

The FRIST modification performed on my Z06 was getting rid of that factory unit.
Went with the Pioneer 8200nex which has all the bells and whistles you can want. It has a factory fit and clean look once it's installed.

Aftermarket head units are cheap and literally 2 million times better than OEM. Yank out that piece of crap, put in your aftermarket, and enjoy all the connectivity you could possibly imagine.
If you're worried about keeping your car stock, keep your OEM unit and sell it with your car later. Easy.

EVROSE beat me to my suggestion.
If you have XM radio equipment, but no subscription, this device is great. It only requires a wire with connector fittings. Been using for a couple years now, love it.

I agree with the others that suggested an aftermarket radio. I put in a pioneer similar to the one linked above. I cannot say I missed the stock head-unit at all.
It's an easy swap and it can be done completely plug and play (no splicing of factory wiring) with the right harnesses.

It looks like I'm going to take these guys advice and take out the navigation unit and go with a good aftermarket system.

An aftermarket headunit with modern smart phone integration is almost a must have IMO. Get a modern head unit with apple car play or android auto.

I replaced my OEM HU with an Android HU back in 2014 and it remains one of my favorite upgrades. Navigation is terrific, and the ability to run apps like Torque and DashCommand (and Chrome, and Gmail, and Fuelly, and...) gives my '07 a modern digital experience. I will never again consider a traditional HU for any of my vehicles! BTW, the Audio / Electronics section of the forum is dedicated to such topics.

Thanks for all the details. Looks good and I see you still have the Corvette emblem. I am NOT tech savvy, probably because I'm too damn old, but I have an Apple Iphone so your unit wouldn't work for me, correct???? Thanks again for the info and especially the photos.

It works great with iPhones. See that thread for more photos and details, and post questions there so folks with newer versions can chime in. Good luck!

Since you have an iPhone, I would suggest you put all the music you have on your iPod onto your iPhone. Get a HU that supports BlueTooth and you can connect your iPhone to it wirelessly. Also, if you get a HU that has Car Play, you can connect your iPhone to it and use the navigation on your iPhone and don't need to buy a HU that has built in navigation.

I don't know what happened. I purchased it new some time ago and it works fine, but I noticed every time I opened the door to get in it would make a clicking sound, like a relay kicking off and on. If I didn't start the car for 4 or 5 days the battery would be dead (new battery.) I took the PAL out about 3 weeks ago and the battery hasn't died. Really wish I knew the problem.
