Default Black Rims ?

Hi All,

Looking to replace the (stock) chrome rims with something black (on a yellow '12 Z06) with some weight loss. Suggestions, pictures, etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks.

In my opinion the Cup wheels are the best looking on a C6!

Just get your wheels really dirty and don't wash them, it looks the same.

OEM 'Cups' Satin black is the best finish too- not flat and not pure gloss

I hated chrome wheels on my Z, and I love the Cups, but I had already purchased the 18"/19" Michelin PS 4S tires, so I went with the satin black Forgestar F14's. I love the look of black wheels on Velocity Yellow!!

Cup wheels look great and are a solid deal ~$1400 shipped, but try shopping for tires before you switch from 18/19 to the 19/20 sizes... It is far more limited. Sure you can stick with Michelins at a higher cost, and if you're <500whp you'll be fine on the street. But, if you need stickier, there aren't a lot of options in those sizes. If they made a R888R in 19/20 cup wheel size, I'd have done it myself long ago.
Best option is to look at some of the CNC'd vendors on here and see what you like. Expect to pay $2K-5K avg, depending on your choice.

This is what I have on mine. Textured matte black. I ordered the ZR1 size for the front, so now I have 19" all the way around. 285/30 and 345/30

Thanks so much, Guys! Awesome pictures - they all are. I'm a huge fan of 'cup' ones but I had those (or similar looking) on my 13 SS 1LE - so willing to try something else this time Btw, could anyone tell the weight of the stock 'chrome' ones I got? Hopefully, there was only one 'chrome' variant for model year 12. I'd like to compare their weight to the potential candidates.

Thanks.

Does yours have Z07 package? It looks great - was wondering if I could get the black roof somehow - haha.

Edit: Meant to reply to @Vestor

Default Katech KT1's

I really like the Forgeline / Katech wheels - they might be worth a look!

Another vote for Cup wheels, but as others have mentioned the tire selection is limited. I stayed with the Michelin PSS ZP so not an issue for me.

I've had everything from black spyders to black chrome customs on my car.
Currently running a brushed titanium
With heavy runflats in OEM ZR1 sizes, my combo came in at 52 lbs front, 58 lbs rear I think this is lighter than even the factory cup wheels.
