Default My new (to me) 2013 ZR1

Drove it home from Portland to Brentwood last Monday, a rather fun trip of 640 miles.

2013, 13.5K original miles, one owner, never abused, modified or raced.

His asking price was $69.5K and since I hate haggling, I called and asked his no-haggle-rock-bottom-I-won't-take-a-penny-less price. His response was $65K to which I quickly replied "sold".

The reason I ended up with this was due to my 2015 Z06 being bought back by GM under the California Lemon Law (which for once is a law that actually favors the consumer).

In hindsight I probably should have bought one of these originally, but live and learn I guess.

Despite having 12 less HP than the Z06 it is WAY faster since it's considerably lighter. I know it'd be a blast to race but for now I'm just gonna have fun driving it the way it is.

Congrats on the upgrade!

I seriously considered the silver c6 z06 you had for sale a few years ago. Hope to see some track times with this car.

Beautiful car! Get rid of those 2 extra "aft" cats, and maybe you'll close the gap on that 12 HP deficit...

Nice score! Curios to your opinion comparison between the C7z and C6 ZR1? Pro’s/con’s, that’s excluding the body style changes, I believe most of us are biased toward the C6 lines and for good reason. More or less performance/drivability **** like that. I do have another question though, saw another ZR1 at cars and coffee meet last weekend(never found owner) he also had cup wheels. Without speaking with him I do not know how those ended up on there. So I’ll ask you, you obviously bought it that way, but do you like those better than the factory ZR1 wheel? I said this in another thread and it’s a bold statement but I think hands down the factory ZR1 wheels may be the best looking wheel a manufacturer has put out, at least on the domestic sports car side. Anyway Congrats and enjoy that monster!! 🇺🇸

Regardless of the 12 HP difference, it just looks so much better than a C7 ZO6. Congratulations on getting such a fine car. It looks like it just came out of the showroom!

Enjoy Clayton

Beautiful car!
With the exception of my race car, this is definitely the most fun out of all the ones I've owned. It made my 2006 Z06 feel slow by comparison.

I think the biggest knock for me against the C7 Z06 (apart from the fact it was a lemon) is that it was too high tech and refined. The ZR1 feels more like a race car trying to fit in on the street, whereas with the Z06 it was the other way around.

It's also considerably more nimble as I believe the difference in curb weight is somewhere in the vicinity of 300lbs which of course makes it crazy fast.

I also like the fact they pretty much worked out all the kinks compared to the Z06 which suffered from a lot of "first production year" problems. The 8 speed transmission (in my opinion) was not ready for prime time as that was the primary reason for the buyback.

The seats were upgraded in 2012 and I found them to be on par with the ones in the C7.

I'm pretty sure the cup wheels were an option starting in 2012 as the previous owner said he ordered the car with them.
