Does anyone make a mild to wild switch to fit in the ashtray?

If you search mild to wild DIY, there's a writeup that I used for my last Z that was super simple, and cost less than $5 if I remember...it's a fuse and a switch of your choice. I placed a round switch where the cigarette lighter was since I'd never used it or planned to use it. I'll see if I can find it.

If you leave the switch in the off position will it still work like stock?

Yes. Off is like stock. On is loud all the time.

So the flaps would still open up after 3500 rpm like it does from the factory correct?

Yes if your foot is in it. If you do part throttle they stay closed.

Do a search on ebay for mild 2 wild...corvettecentral.com has one that is controlled by a switch. You can put it on your dead mans pedal (farthest to left). Out of the way, easy to use, takes 10 minutes to put in. No fob. Take the dead man pedal off, drill a small hole through it (its plastic), install the switch, run the wire through the console and into the fuse block on the passenger side, done. I guess if you wanted, you could put the switch in the ashtray, but the foot control is much easier and out of the way. Simply move your foot and push.

I have the "old school" M2W, which is the dead pedal switch. Works great for me.

Same here, I love my dead pedal switch. Cheaper than the console switches or the shift ****. Stone simple.

Yeah I think that's what I'm gonna end up doing. I just installed BBE Gen 3 last night. Oh my God why did I wait so long! It sounds incredible. Haven't taken to the road yet but just the difference at idle us unbelievable. Happy 4th!

Added my own switch right of the ashtray and modified the cigarette lighter housing for under $25. Since I run in the open position 99% of the time, I opted to have LED light on when in the closed position. looks pretty clean IMO.
