I suspect for two reasons.
1) They were the largest that fit in the hole without additional clearancing and were designed this way (for larger exhaust side pushrods).
2) The exhaust side works much harder than the intake side. Without getting too deep in the weeds, the forces on the exhaust side, due to cylinder pressure that exists as the exhaust valve opens, are very high and that side of the system (exhaust) are under more stress. And when you add in the area of the exhaust valve, the pushrod on the exhaust side can become the weakest link (it will deflect/flex and/or compress before the intake side pushrod does). So often times builds call for stronger/thicker/stiffer pushrods on the exhaust side, which is experiencing higher forces. So this is likely why Mike. And is a smart move.

Out with the old. In with the new. I’m happy to say that I found a great buyer for the Mamo topend. It couldn’t be going to a better home.
Current state of disassembly. I need to pick up the pace.

Sweet, hopefully the new owner of the top end can see about what happened.

Looking forward to getting the heads back very soon from WCCH. During my visit I dropped off my Frankenstein CNC ported Hi Ram so that Richard could port match the two. Richard went above and beyond and created a CNC program that would match the dims of the Hi Ram opening. Very impressive, and very much appreciated. So the heads are taking a little longer to finish up because of the custom porting.
Another aspect of the build that I've addressed this week has been tuning. I had Dave Steck tune my last combo and I cannot thank him enough for the great job he did with the tune and with continuing to support me with tweaks via remote tuning. I really want the car to be tuned in person with this new combo to get things really optimized and Dave and I couldn't make it work with him being all the way in St Louis and I in California. Dave recommended Matt Gower for tuning in California, so I'll be taking the car to GP Tuning on Oct 1st for a dyno tune. I've heard great things about his tuning and I'm really excited that he'll be putting the finishing touches on my build. It's awesome that he has tuned many all motor LS cars and his dyno can apply a load to the car to really dial in the VE table. With a cam this sized, every 1% of improvement in driveability helps.
I'll be in San Fran for college that weekend so it will be pretty convenient, since GP Tuning is almost 400 miles away. Lucky for me I have a tow pig Cummins and just need to rent a trailer.
So I have a deadline to finish her up now...Oct 1st!

I also purchased a Hellcat 525lph in tank pump to replace the 450lph pump that is in there. Matt is concerned that the 450 will be on the edge with high ethanol content at 700+ rwhp.
